It's an excellent way to set tile on walls

It scales to + or - 1 inch. When I used the laser to install bathroom wall tile the lines stayed level and plumb at all times without any issues. In other words, I haven't really tested its accuracy or ability to work beyond the first four measures As the lines are 8 feet away from my work surface, I am worried they will become fuzzy and wide. I believe the paperwork showed 3/8-inch lines. Five sixteenths of an inch at 40 feet. You can overcome this problem by using the center of the beam, so it should be no problem The laser is a great value at its price point.

An unnecessary expense because the ground is more than 1/2" out of level in 20'

It is far too inaccurate to be used in any meaningful way. If a $3k Bosch tripod mounted laser is compared to a $6k Bosch, the right side is always higher by 1/2". Despite the fact that alignment cannot be adjusted, I am disappointed. Spending money that wasn't necessary.

Also, until the pendulum is unlocked, there's no way to turn on the laser. There was no difference between those two features in the previous version. I just feel OK about it. I had hoped for more. The self-leveling function will not operate if you are off by more than 4 degrees. When we are 15 feet or more away from a laser, the green laser is a little easier to see, but not much brighter.
