I've used motion lights outside for about ten years, and I use them throughout my house as well. Having replaced other units with this one because it's bright and streamlined, I find it appealing. Since the adhesive on the top repeatedly failed to hold, I exclusively used a small nail to hang the item using the loop at the top. I like how this works. Once the metal piece falls out of the middle, the adhesive is ineffective. And once the metal piece works its way through the adhesive, it is no longer effective. It is still best to hang with a nail. It was difficult (or impossible) to remove it from the wall to replace the batteries if it was too firmly attached to the wall. Sorry that I had to figure all of this out on my own.

Although I like it for the amount of light it provides, I have a problem with the speed at which they recycle. I was not disappointed with the lights. I got about 21 seconds on my stop watch when I counted how long the lights were on when motion was detected and shut off within 20 seconds when no motion was detected.
