The other outlet is not covered. I purchased four of them, and they all fit on half of the plate, freeing up the other outlet. These tiny lights are fantastic!
They don't understand light sensor technology, so when the presence of light is disrupted by walking past the device and their body casts a shadow/blocks/interrupts the presence of light, their mind believes that their movement is causing the light to turn on/off. Nope. It is a light sensing device and NOT a motion sensing device. If it were motion, it would not matter whether it was in 100% darkness or 100% sunlight as motion would% Rather than light's presence or absence.

Although neither the fixture nor the box indicate a color temperature, the light is very pleasant and warm/soft. The best part is that the light can be dimmed.

I despised getting up in the middle of the night to check on her. These night lights are ideal because they provide excellent lighting in hallways and bathrooms while also maintaining a clean and tidy appearance during the day. There is also a dimming feature, which is useful because the highest brightness setting is quite bright. I included photographs of the light at its brightest, middle, and lowest settings, as well as a photograph of the light with overhead lights turned on. I own eight of them and highly recommend them!.
m. , I TRIPPED OVER A GERMAN SHEPHERD THAT HAD BLENDED INTO A DARK WOOD FLOOR. My 83-year-old father, God bless him, advised me to get night lights after I tripped over my dog. After that fall, I spent four days in the hospital ($30,000). That was a waste of money (a 00 bill). br>br>Well, they're fantastic! I can walk easily through my house and see well enough without my glasses to avoid Disaster (his name is Rebel, by the way). Husky isn't an issue because she's mostly white.
I assumed it would be simple, but I had no idea there were so many different styles and options. I knew what I wanted after much research. There was only one company that had everything, and that was this one. br>br>For starters, the nightlight can be dimmed. It's impossible to judge how bright a night light is based on written descriptions. Getting one that can be dimmed eliminates this issue. On this nightlight, the dimmer slide switch works perfectly - from pitch black to moderately bright, in my opinion. It does not produce the same amount of light as a 1 watt (or higher) LED nightlight bulb. Second, I desired a soft white light with a color temperature of around 2700 K. This appears to be about right for this nightlight in my opinion. I didn't want anything white or, god forbid, blue. Third, I wanted a light-controlling electric eye, which this has. br>br>Fourth, I wanted a nightlight that is attractive both when it is turned off and when it is turned on. Finally, I wanted to receive my package and have everything work without any duds, which I did. br>br>Time will tell on longevity, but I would think it will be fine. I liked them so much that I ordered 8 more the same day they arrived.
On one of them, there was a fire concern. It got hot in the outlet where it was plugged in, as you'd expect from an air conditioner or something. The temperature of the outlet plate measured over 100 degrees with a temperature reader after unplugging and trying again later. Even though it was a GFCI outlet, you'd think it wouldn't make a difference. The others were fine, and a year later there was nothing noteworthy that was not working properly.
I'm not sure why motion detection is listed as a review score; it's a shame because most people are likely to give it a low rating because it doesn't exist (and shouldn't). These lights, on the other hand, are absolutely fantastic! I've gone through a few different nightlights over the years, and I'm happy to report that I've finally found 'the' nightlight of choice, as evidenced by the photo attached to my review, which was taken in an otherwise pitch-black bathroom in my basement. I have another of these lights in the hallway just outside the bathroom, and it really brightens it up! I didn't want it to be too bright in my guest room, but that's no problem because there's a brightness slider on it as well! Thank you, manufacturers of nightlights, for your hard work.
These lights do what they're supposed to do, but they could be a little better: br>br>(a) Instead of hitting full brightness instantly, I wish they faded on and off more gradually (say, over 2 seconds). It's quite startling in a dark room at night. It would be more elegant if the colors faded in and out. br>br>(b) I wish the time until it's time to close was longer. It's possible to adjust off. It is currently around 15-years-old. It only takes 20 seconds. Assume you're entering the restroom. The light is turned on as soon as you enter the room. When you, um, "sit down," however, it no longer detects motion and turns off after 15 seconds. It only takes 20 seconds. We'd like to be able to change the shut-off time. 15-minute breaks are allowed in some areas. It's perfectly acceptable to take 20 seconds. However, in some cases, we should be able to choose between 1 minute, 2 minutes, or 5 minutes. br>br>I went in search of Maz- I'm looking for information about Tek online in order to make these recommendations, but I can't seem to find any.
These are fantastic. The fact that they go so low is fantastic. The lowest setting emits the same amount of light as an el light, which is extremely dim. Our children require a room blackout shade to sleep, but they prefer a small amount of light when they wake up in the middle of the night. These are ideal for turning on brighter when they first get into bed to see, then dimming for the rest of the night. br>Because we had one, use it in the hallway and bathroom as well. I had no idea how much we could do with lights! And the brightness of each one is different.
I like these lights a lot, but only two of them worked! Even when plugged into the same outlets as the working lights, the other two do not light up. (Of course, Silly, I turned off the lights in the room. ) br>br>The seller offered a no-questions-asked refund and directed me to an Amazon listing for a pair of similar lights. The pair is less than half the price of the four I originally ordered, but I get to keep the ones that work, so I still have four nightlights. Of course, this assumes that both of the similar lights function properly. br>br>Amazon offered a returnless refund, but I decided to try the manufacturer's chat first, which took nearly 30 minutes, but hopefully resulted in four working lights and a savings of about $4 over the original price, implying that I made about $8 per hour. Was it truly worthwhile of my time?.
