My husband and I recently installed an ornamental pond and dry riverbed in our backyard. The client wanted something different, yet there are a lot of choices for accent lighting. These were the ones we chose. To begin with, they do give the impression that you have These lights are made up of a number of small led lights that, when illuminated, cascade and flicker at random, giving the illusion that they are color of the light produced is mostly orange and golden, which one might expect from the tiki torch effect. The cages, or body of the light if you will, are made of aluminum and the unit itself is quite heavy. There are several plastic sections connecting together that form the poles for the light. The poles are approximately six inches long. This means you can adjust the height to anywhere from low to the ground all the way up to When the lights are a foot or two off the ground, they appear to be sturdy enough, but I am not sure I would rely on them several feet off the ground. Upon full charging, they can last all night and into the morning. We have only had these a few days, so it is too early to comment on quality and longevity, but as time goes on, I will update my review. Before I bought one of those stake drivers to hammer a stake into the ground, they sat inside my door for around 2 months. I was finally able to set up these lanterns thanks to the tool. They were ALL lit up and look great the following evening after I pressed the buttons to turn them on. One of them stopped turning on after a few days. My theory was that the bulbs weren't getting enough light to stay lit throughout the night, and since I am not around to check them in the first few hours after the sun sets, I went with that assumption. After a few more days, they were back with 2 more. I never lit more than two lamps in the next 2 months, but used to turn on one or two when I got home. Another month or so later, I am down to just ONE of the four employees. The one that works is great, but to still have a 75% failure rate after just a few months of use is quite disappointing.
