Questions & Answers

Do you think it is possible to install a dusk to dawn sensor, and if so, what kind would you suggest?

My sincere thanks to you for your inquiry, Scott! This light fixture most definitely can be fitted with a dusk to dawn sensor. reviewed the "Westek SW103CT Outdoor Swivel Photo Control" and found that it works as expected I am very pleased with how it works! Alternatively, you can copy the name of the photocell and paste it on Amazon, entering the ASIN number B000Z9DCF6, or typing the name directly! You may also want to consider our PAR30 LED bulb, which can be used in conjunction with it. If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will be more than happy to help! ASIN #B01A73K5MM It is my hope that this information will assist you in making the decision to purchase this lovely light fixture. We appreciate your help and wish you a happy and successful day. Would it be possible to cut the arm down so it doesn't stick out so much? Is that going to cut off the mounting plate as well?

Holly here. You have a great question! Thank you so much! If you would like to purchase a shorter gooseneck arm, you may want to look at our other fixtures that offer shorter gooseneck arms. This fixture's arm is not recommended for cutting, as it is sealed, and screwed to the mounting plate by default. To locate us, simply enter the following information into Google The HTM Lighting Company. I will be more than happy to further assist you with your purchase if you have questions. Please call Hugo and request him, and I can answer any of your questions! Have a great day! Thanks, and I wish you the best! The following *br I am Hugo, a lighting specialist at HTM

Can this fixture be lit with a low voltage bulb? Is it necessary to feed power at a shallow depth?

I'm sorry, but this fixture is only rated for 120-volts. In consequence, it is not able to accommodate small, low voltage bulbs, and there is not enough room for additional power feed in the unit. This fixture does not meet the UL listing requirements, and any modification would void the listing. In terms of motion detection, this is rated as 4/5. Have you confirmed there's a motion sensor built in?

Dear Sir or Madam, thank you for your interest in our gooseneck barn light fixtures, and for taking the time to reach out to us! Located on one side of the fixture is a switch, but the other side is a light switch. The two sides come together. In order to make use of our fixtures, you will need to install an external motion sensor to your junction box. Appearing to be high-priced The product was of good quality, sturdy, well packaged, and easy to install
4/5

It's all right. My comments can be found here. Therefore, I really enjoy this outdoor light fixture's style. Apparently the quality is very good for the price, the packaging was excellent, and everything arrived safely. Assembling the fixture itself is also a very simple process. Since many reviewers say installation in the house is a breeze, but then there are a few people who say it is almost impossible, I was curious to find out if the process was as easy or as hard as some said. The size of the electrical box to which you are attaching the light will determine the size of the light. I guess it was designed to fit into a commercial building that may have a standard electrical box size different from this one, so I'm assuming that it may have been intended to fill a location in a commercial building? While I did have a round box that matched the bracket at the back of the fixture, the holes in the back of the plate of the light were about 4 inches apart, while the vertical holes on my electrical box were about 3 inches and the horizontal ones left to right were about Because the holes on the fixture plate were wider than the holes on my box, I would've had to drill a larger hole in the siding of my house to accommodate the oversized box if the holes in the box I have were closer together than the holes on the fixture plate. Taking care of that task was slightly beyond my comfort level in electrical work. I chose to go down a different route that did work, but I’m not quite sure if this is the best choice As a result, I decided to place my electrical box's holes at the desired locations and transfer those measurements to the lighting fixture plate so that new holes can be drilled. While the process was a little tedious, it served the purpose. It took me about 3 1/2 hours to complete The process probably would've taken me less than an hour if the plate was the same as my electrical box. Although my lights are fairly protected from the rain, I am still going to fill in the original holes with black caulk or silicon to keep them watertight. The rest of the house is great, except for the insulation issue. My only other small change I would make if I were designing this light would be to make the screws the same color as the light so that you don't have silver screws on an all-black The screws will probably be painted black or I will use a black Sharpie or something in order to blend them in more although you won't see them even being silver even if you really try to find The saucer section of the light is connected to the gooseneck by screwing it on, and I taped the threads with Teflon plumbers tape just to make sure that all the threads were waterproof. Basically, I wanted to write this because there have been conflicting reviews and I can see how both reviews can be true (the good and the bad experiences). It all depends on the size of the electrical box you plan to attach The rest is pretty basic and easy to install. The last thing I thought of is this. This fixture is not able to be tilted so if your house has siding with an angle, the light fixture will be angled ever so slightly. This didn't bother us much though, as our house has siding that is slightly angled.

I honestly thought that the product was the worst thing I had ever purchased
3/5

As a home improvement contractor, I make improvements to homes. It has been my experience that instructions were bad. Products that have been difficult to assemble or install have been encountered by me. I HOPE YOU WON'T do it again. After spending the day at different electrical supply stores with the product and instructions, I came home. The consent of all parties Currently, there is no mounting box that conforms to the design in existence. The tech support person was very helpful. Just caulk over the other two screws, they said, (that's always a nice touch on a new installation), so use the old box and only two screws- He said the screws weren't long enough, so I sent him a receipt and they would buy the screws for me. It actually worked that way for me In this case, the holes are misaligned. We are unable to do this. My entire afternoon was wasted because of this frustrating situation. I recommend you NOT to buy this product. The warning has been given to you. My dream would be to give them a negative or zero.

It is recommended that oval boxes be reinforced
4/5

It will take place on Nov. 1, Here's an update. The wiring for the light fixture was installed. As far as the electrical installation was concerned, it was fairly straightforward. I am attaching a picture that was taken near dusk in the evening. It turned out that I had to install a 200 watt warm bulb as the 60 watt bulb had the bluish This light fixture was installed approx. 12 and a half feet from the front of the workshop, and the 200 watts from it definitely illuminates it. This review pertains to the physical installation and what was received only at this time. In this transaction, I bought an outdoor barn style light with a 22-inch arm that is 14 inches tall and bronze finished. In this case, the 4 x 8 box is necessary. As stated in the instructions, it should be attached securely to a structural component in order to prevent it from falling off. In addition to installing the octagon box, I also ran a 2x4 across the back of As this is an unfinished workshop, there is no plywood or drywall on the walls to keep an eye on. The 22" arm should be used to reinforce the octagon box so that more than one side is attached to the It is noted earlier by others that there is plenty of wire you have changed light fixtures, then there should not be any issues that can not be overcome unless an octagon box cannot be installed (I installed a metal box, and I would not recommend using a plastic box). I was impressed with the packaging. We found no damage to the light. There was plenty of styrofoam to keep it secure. When I was assembling the hardware, I did not see the small allen screw mentioned in the instruction manual but in the box with the hardware. I did contact the light manufacturer about this. As quickly as possible, they replied that the instruction is not used on the 14" light and the instructions are applicable to other lights. In the tapped hole there is a small hole that is used to drain any accumulation of water that may form. Please do not put anything in it. Attached to this review is a picture of the hole. As soon as the installation is completed, I'll post more photos and a final one with it illuminated. The wiring into the switch box has not yet been completed.

The barn light is of excellent quality
5/5

Happy to be able to help. I was impressed with how easy these lights are to install It was just a matter of purchasing new electrical outlets for my barn and industrial lighting since I already had industrial lighting in my outbuilding Mounts that are already in use should be used. Because the base has structural integrity, it is not supported by a junction box-style mount with decorative cover as some other systems appear to have The lights that look like barns. This light fixture was fitted with my own LED bulbs Dusk to dawn 2700k A19 bulbs from Philips -- Together, they are in perfect harmony since the fixture does not interfere with the light sensor. Depending on the mounting distance you may need to run the wires through some flexible conduit to a junction box that is several feet away from the mounting surface. This cabinetry seems quite sturdy with a well-done finish, and seems to be quite well built It's a lot better than the plastic barn lights that used to be there Therefore, they are likely to last for a long time.
