What is the width and length of the opening? I'd like to add a glass lamp shade with an E26 base and a 1-light bulb. Opening is 5/8 inch. Is this lamp compatible with it?

A shade can't be added to my knowledge, but I could be wrong. Hopefully, someone else will be able to respond.

Will this lamp work with an Amazon Alexa or Google Home smart plug?

Yes, there is a mechanical on/off switch on this floor lamp. When the switch is turned on and the plug is connected to a smart outlet/plug, the light can be controlled via the smart plug.

What is the brightness of this lamp in a room?

It works perfectly in my living room, lighting it up nicely. However, the bulb used (I'm using an Ascher E26-based bulb) has an impact on how well it works. It is a decorative bulb with a lumen output of 700. I prefer the antique look, so I recommend that you experiment with a few different light bulbs until you find the right one. The floor lamp is simple, and I like the floor switch (which allows me to turn it on). off), but for the price, it's perfect.

Is it possible to replace an E26 base light bulb with an E27 base light bulb?

Yes, E27 base light bulbs can be used in an E26 socket. When screwing in the light bulbs, it will be a little tight, but it will work.

It makes a huge difference to have a good bulb

The bulb is what matters in this lamp because it is designed in a very minimalist style. I first tried a very expensive 60w edison bulb I had, which looked nice in the box but was too bright in practice, had an odd style, and gave off a "vintage" very amber glow, which was not what I wanted in the room. br>br>I then switched to a 40w GE Reveal LED G25 "HD Light" and the lamp was much better, and despite being an LED, it has the look of an old edison bulb. Although 40 watts isn't a lot of light, keep in mind that because this lamp lacks a shade or diffuser, you don't want to use a bulb that is too bright. For good coverage and light in the room, I also paired it with other lamps (or, ideally, two for a large room). br>br>When I first got this lamp, I wasn't too fond of it, but it turned out that the real issue was the bulb I chose for it. With this lamp, the right bulb is everything.

In a dark room, it shines the brightest

Bella, on the other hand, is a fan. With this simple light source (sold separately), I really like the old-fashioned bulbs. br>I didn't want a light source in the room that was obvious. br>My room is small, so I don't need any more "stuff. " br>It can be hidden if you want it to be. br>I couldn't figure out how to take a photo without the light glaring in my eyes.

It's great, but it's a little blinding

Metal is sturdy, and the color is evenly distributed. In it, I chose a warm vintage-style lightbulb. It looks great and complements the dark industrial vibe I'm going for, but this is the first lamp I've made without a shade. I have no idea how they do it. As I go about my day, it makes me a little blind. I've seen these work well in restaurants, but they're typically much higher and out of sight. There appears to be a way to attach a lamp shade if desired, but this may detract from the overall look you desire. Nonetheless, I adore it and have purchased a matching desk lamp (so that I can go completely blind). Heh.

A fantastic purchase! I've seen these sleek minimalist floor lamps for much more money than this one, so when I ordered one, I kept my expectations low in case it was one of those "you get what you pay for" situations, and I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived

I bought this floor lamp for my office because I liked the minimalist design, simplicity, vintage feel, and low price

The base does have "weight," but it feels like it could easily topple. As a result, this is something I would never put in my house - I have two small children and live in a small apartment. I noticed the socket was crooked when the lamp arrived and I inserted the light bulb. This design isn't forgiving, and the light bulb appears skewed as a result. I emailed customer service, and by the end of the day, I had received an emailed response indicating that a replacement had been sent. The replacement arrived within a few days, and despite the fact that I had to "tweak" the socket slightly, it is perfect.
