Questions & Answers

The sensor switch has a problem: My lamp turns on and off at random intervals. It happens even if I don't turn on the light. Is there a way to fix it or do you have to send it back?

It worked fine for three months before randomly turning off. In addition, I noticed that the on/off switch panel becomes too hot to touch. br>After a year, it stopped working completely. This lamp is not something I would purchase or recommend.

What is the minimum clearance distance between my desk and the wall?

If your desk top is flat and level, you don't need to leave any space between it and the wall; however, because my drawing table is slanted, I'd need about 1 1/2 to 2 inches, which causes the clamp's bottom to slant as well. It's a fantastic lamp with some of the best lighting I've ever seen.

How long does the stiff part of the arm have to be before it can begin to flex?

The gooseneck as a whole can be bent in any direction. If necessary, you can lower the lamp head close to the work surface.

Is it possible to remove the mounting bracket, leaving only the tubular stem, so that it can be mounted to a monitor stand? The mounting clamp is currently in the way. ?

Yes, you must first scrape away the protective pad, and then there are six screws holding the base to the tubular bar beneath the pad. If you decide to use the clamp again in the future, all you'll need is a new adhesive pad to replace the one you scratched off to get to the screws. I did it the other day and it took me no more than 10 minutes. The tubular bar was then zip-tied to my computer stand, which held my twin monitors, and it looked fantastic.

[5 stars] Excellent lamp with a couple of minor design flaws
5/5

To begin with, this lamp is enormous! Its light coverage extends to the entirety of my desk, which is fantastic and something that other LED lamps I've owned have never come close to matching. I adore the fact that it's mounted as well. It blends in nicely with the rest of my desk, which is VESA-compatible. On a motorized sit-stand, monitors are mounted. Because I work at a stand-up desk, the ability to clamp the light to it is a fantastic feature. br>br>In terms of the lamp's construction, the stand and base are both made of metal, with contrasting colors that complement the lamp's overall color palette. The bendable arm is covered in a rubberized material that feels nice, and the lamp itself is mostly made of plastic with what appears to be a thin aluminum wrap around the top. This choice of material, on the other hand, is likely to reduce the amount of weight due to the flexible arm. br>br>However, this lamp has two minor flaws in my opinion. A tiny hole can be seen in the power button in the Amazon pictures. When I first received my lamp, I assumed it was a flaw, so I checked the pictures and sure enough, it was there. To me, this design decision is completely illogical. Not only does it appear to be a mistake, but the hole in my mine is also not centered and serves no purpose. The light serves as a reminder that the lamp is powered but turned off, and I'd rather have no indicator light than one that is so badly designed. I can only assume that the light was added as an afterthought to help users find the power button in the dark, but this is why design afterthoughts should be avoided in most product releases. br>br>In addition, the black, thick, contrasting power cable for a table mounted lamp should be able to be routed through the mounting portion of the base so that it is not visible. In my opinion, this should be the default option, not just an option. br>br>I also notice that the lamp is slightly wobbly when touched, and upon closer inspection, it appears that the problem is with the connection of the stand to the base; however, given the lamp's height and the size restrictions imposed by the mounting bracket, this is an issue that can be overlooked. Finally, the lamp's diffuser is far inferior to that of some other LED lamps I've purchased, as you can see all of the bulbs when the lamp is turned on. It's possible that this isn't the case. Some may find this an issue, but I find that when light is close to your field of vision, as it is with this lamp, a good diffuser makes all the difference. br>br>Having said that, these are minor issues that have no bearing on the lamp's functionality. which is well worth the price of admission in and of itself. br>br>Overall, I would strongly recommend this product, which deserves a 4 out of 5 stars at this price point and for its light coverage and functionality. 5 stars.

A fantastic lamp with a critical flaw in its placement
3/5

If you're looking for a bright desk lamp, look no further. This is one of the most excellent examples. If you also want to be able to position and/or angle the lamp in a specific location, this is the lamp for you. Take a look somewhere else. br>br>At best, the advertised "flexible gooseneck" is a joke; while it is "flexible," the lamp head is too heavy for the next, causing the lamp to droop below where you want it. Not to mention that it is advertised as making "no noise when adjusting," which I found to be false. It's very loud, and the gooseneck isn't very durable. When I walk away from my desk, my neck droops and makes a variety of squeaky noises. br>br>To put it mildly, I'm disappointed.

Excellent Customer Service – Functionality is outstanding
4/5

The lighting function is excellent, and the brightness is excellent, but I haven't seen material this inexpensive in a long time. When I first tried to adjust the bracket so that it could be mounted on a thicker wall, the hex screws and allen wrench ripped out right away. The screws had to be drilled out and nuts and bolts installed in their place. Also, the arm was not securely fastened to the mounting bracket (screws are located directly beneath the quality control sticker). QC, really? There was only one task for you to complete! So I began to tighten them (carefully, as the metal threads were about to strip). When I went to adjust the light after it was mounted, I almost tore the screws holding the treads to the bracket out of the treads. br>br>This light, in my opinion, is only worth $25. It's a massive rip-off to charge $75. off. Metal is an inexpensive material. Why would you use such a low-grade metal on Cylindrical Earth? You should be ashamed of yourself, PHIVE! br>br>Creative+ paraphrase: br>I'll admit, PHIVE, that my review was a little harsh, but the message was clearly received, and your customer service is excellent. I received the new lamp free of charge, and the assembly is better than expected, with no stripped screws, so thumbs up and thank you very much.

My hack and a fantastic lamp
5/5

This is a fantastic desk lamp. I like that the power button has a small LED power indicator that can be seen in the dark and allows you to turn on the light- excellent thought process It's very dark, so it doesn't bother me. My 48" wide desktop is bathed in a lovely, even light. In addition, unlike some other reviews, my lamp makes no noise when it is near radios or speakers. When I ordered it, I didn't pay attention and thought I was getting a black lamp. This one, on the other hand, is aluminum/white. br>I have a very large curved monitor on a dual monitor pedestal, and I discovered that the curved/flexi portion of the lamp, when clamped to the back edge of the desk (next to the clamp for the monitor pedestal), did not allow the lamp to come far enough in front of the monitor. Plus, having TWO things clamped to my desktop didn't appeal to me. So I decided to literally and figuratively hack the lamp. br>With the clamp, I cut the lamp's aluminum post portion to about 7" (carefully so as not to damage the power wire that runs inside) and discarded the bottom portion. Aluminum is very soft and cuts easily. Then I drilled two 5/16" holes in one of the monitor pedestals' horizontal member, as well as corresponding holes in the cut-out. the lamp's opposite end I went all the way through the monitor pedestal piece with some small but long screws. I was able to thread the lamp power cord through the vertical pipe of the monitor pedestal after slipping the buts onto the screws inside the lamp support's end. Everything is in working order and appears to be in excellent condition.

If you're a designer, you'll know what I'm talking about
5/5

This is the desk lamp you've been looking for. This 31. The 5" LED Task Lamp provides ample illumination for most work areas. With 20 different lighting modes, you can test the colors for any interior application without having to leave your desk. By far the best task lamp I've ever purchased is the Phive LED task lamp.
