There is a difference in size between these wall plate covers and normal ones. I can now see the cutout on the side of the mounted plate, because two of them were not able to cover the wall cutout completely. From certain well known hardware stores, I have bought a lot of receptacle covers at dirt cheap prices. There is no receptacle cover like those on the cheap. In the event that you tighten them too much, they flex and crack. This is a thick and tough rope. Flexibility is just enough for them to fit tightly against the wall, but not so much that they stick out.

You can use this upgrade to make your house appear a bit more modern. There is a very small gap between the outlet and the wall plate, and that is the only complaint.
