Questions & Answers

Is there a metal frame around the bottom or is it completely frameless?

What a fantastic query! There is a Bottom guide rail on the bottom. It's about a quarter of an inch tall. The sides have profiles that can accommodate out of plumb walls up to 3/8" thick. The glass panels are not framed in any way. less. If you have any additional questions about the Encore, please call DreamLine Customer Service at 866- 731- or send an email to [email protected]. Will this work with a 55 1/2 x 55 1/2 inch opening?

Yes, it will work; however, the door overlap will be slightly larger.

Is there a way to avoid using the inside handle because of its depth?

Unless you don't want to put them in and instead want to see if you can find knobs.

The size of my opening is 53". Isn't that a little too teeny-tiny? Do the sliding doors have too much overlap?

Yes, it would create a very small gap. Most likely insufficient in size

It appears to be of a good standard
4/5

My installation is now complete. A few things to consider: br>The top bar measurement appears to be a little short; mine could easily be 2-inches. Even if it were 3mm longer, it would still fit. Caulk is capable of forgiving a wide range of transgressions. br>br>Like a dummy, I failed to trim the bottom bar evenly on both sides, resulting in the lower guide block not aligning with the mounting hole position. No problem, I followed the advice of another reviewer and simply glued it down with silicon, filling in the holes with caulk. Even though the guide block is offset by about an inch, it still hides them. br>br>I am dissatisfied with the frame's length. Standing in my tub, the top of my head is level with the top of the frame, and I'm 5'10". When I'm washing my hair, I'm worried that the water will bounce off my head and fall to the floor. Similarly, the top frame of the glass doors does not contain the top of the glass doors. Water could get through the gap between the top of the glass and the bottom of the frame, which is about 1/2" wide. We'll have to wait and see what happens in the morning tomorrow. br>br>When it comes to installing the rollers on the glass doors, be cautious. There is a discrepancy in the images. You don't want to get started on the doors only to discover that the rollers are installed incorrectly. Because the water repellent treatment is only applied to one side of the doors, getting everything just right takes some thought. I marked which side of the glass faced in and which door should be closest to the faucet with tape. Examine the top bar into which the rollers will be mounted after that. Once you've marked everything, it'll be fairly simple to figure out how the rollers should be mounted. br>br>The hardware bags are a little disorganized. There aren't enough screws in the bag designated for mounting the left and right side pieces, but there's another bag labeled "Extra hardware," and there are actually more than you need between the two. br>br>The top bar isn't attached to anything; it's just there. It simply rests on top of the pieces on the left and right sides. Obviously, the heavy weight of the doors pulls it down, so there's no danger, but be aware of it. That was the first time I'd come across such a design. br>br>Similarly, there is no hardware used on the bottom track. It's as simple as using silicon to adhere it to the top of your tub. Because you aren't drilling into the tub's top, this is very convenient. However, make certain that your side piece extends all the way to the tub's surface, as this is what prevents the bottom track from moving if the silicon fails. br>br>An acquaintance loaned me one of those suction cup tools used by glass installers, which made putting the doors on the upper track much easier, a one-step process. Actually, this is a man's job. Without it, two people are required because the glass is too large to easily horse around in without it.

It was a two-man operation, but it was well worth it! This shower door was recently installed
5/5

It had been sitting in my garage for over a year, awaiting the arrival of my tile contractor. To keep you up to date on this product, I've written two other reviews: first, this door is not adjustable in any way, so your walls must be plumb. Second, we had issues with the rails; the powder coating finish was slightly bubbled, and since we'd had it for a year, I hoped the manufacturer would assist us. They were absolutely fantastic! I received our new rails in about 10 days after receiving my payment receipt, and the entire system was installed yesterday. Follow the instructions, they're pretty good, and do everything in the order they say. It is, however, a two-man job, particularly when it comes to installing the very heavy glass doors. Some of the serious assembly takes place in the tub, with one person holding the door and the other attaching the fixtures to it. It may appear challenging, but it isn't. The final product is a stunning, high-end shower door. When comparing the cost and quality of this door to one purchased from a glass shop, which I did investigate, I believe it is worthwhile to purchase it and have a contractor install it. You will not be disappointed if you purchase this door; in fact, you will be overjoyed, and the company, DreamLine, provides excellent customer service. If I could figure out how to attach a picture to this, I would, but I'm not very tech savvy.

Bottom mount tubs should not be screwed in
4/5

Overall, I'm pleased with the results after completing the installation myself. My recommendation is as follows: The guide block should not be screwed into your tub because even a small offset will prevent your doors from sliding easily into the wall profile bumpers. I had to remove the doors and unscrew mine; however, I believe that a generous application of silicone under the bottom mount is sufficient, and your doors will guide the bottom rail to the straightest position.

Hello, y'all
5/5

I just finished a four-hour freelancing DIY project. In satin black, I strongly recommend it. After a year of use, the product has proven to be impervious to our Florida hard water. There are no stains, spots, framing, or tempered glass on this piece. br>br>Installation Information: br>br>Installation Information: br>br>Installation Information 1. br>br> could have been presented in a more appealing manner; When it arrived, the boxes were split open down the sides, and parts were shifting all over the place, so I assumed something had gone wrong. As a result, there was no damage, bending, or scratches on the glass. Is it possible that I was fortunate? Maybe. But this was the ONLY thing that bothered me, and to be honest, the product got me through it unscathed, so it was all in vain. 2. br>br>1. br>br>br>br>br>br Installation instructions for the do-it-yourselfer are straightforward and easy to follow. You'll be fine if you follow their advice, but if you skimp on preparation, you'll almost certainly fail. 3. br>br>4. br>br>5. br>br>6. The weight of glass doors is considerable. When attempting to lift and hang above your tub, keep this in mind. I was taken aback by their size in comparison to what I had previously removed. The doors are thicker than those installed by a typical home builder. 4. br>br> When tightening up the possible water escape areas around the tub seams, we recommend using a clear sealant. 5. br>br> The price was a little high compared to other options, but the modern look (which was perfect for our new farm house style bathroom design) was worth it. It has a clean neutral look to it, and the black fixtures make it really stand out. br>br>I strongly suggest this product; however, keep in mind that they are not packaging experts. Don't get too worked up until you've completed your delivery inspection. If you keep all of the pieces together, you'll be very happy with the end result; they make a fantastic product!.

Shower doors made of glass are stunning! Shower doors made of glass are stunning! It's simple to put together, and it rolls very smoothly
5/5

Because you have to squeegee them off after each shower, it's not the easiest to keep clean, but it's our guest bathroom, so it's not used very often. Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase and would make another one.

This is a very nice unit, and it is unquestionably of high quality
5/5

My larger walk-in shower was done by a local company. I asked for a quote for my 5 foot standard bathtub as well as the shower surround. For a 5 foot bath, it's way too pricey. You could go with the $220 units, but this Dreamline isn't even close in terms of heft and quality; I'd buy it again without hesitation.
