Questions & Answers

What would be the best way to restring a large metal windchime with this twine?

It would be great for that to use twine. There is one concern I have any sharp edges on the metal tubes may fray the twine over time. I would recommend protecting this part if at all possible.

In the title it says, "tarred" twine but the description does not state that it was tarred, only that it was dyed. Is this really tarred twine?

A bit of it may be tarred, but not too much Unlike sticky tape, it doesn't stick to anything. It might be a bit tacky. The cut end does not unravel at all (#18), and it has a bit of stiffness to it. I am not bothered by the slight odor it has when held close to the nose, but it does not appeal to me either. I've used this stuff dozens of times and it's great.

What a mess! It weighs one pound to purchase the product, but 15 pounds to ship it, leading to the delivery weight being 15 pounds. A capillary tube containing 2oz. ?

Those who round up must do so!

Catahoula is similar in quality, though slightly inferior in performance
4/5

The SGT Knots #15 tarred twine and the SGT Bare twine #42 are both of excellent quality. I also bought the Catahoula #18 tarred twine and the Catahoula has a slightly higher quality than Catahoula, but the two are comparable. In contrast, SGT Knots is much less expensive, so it is a better choice if you need a lot of them. A few reasons explain why Catahoula is better quality than the others 1 *br A braided Catahoula line (#36) will not untwist, even with effort. Because it is braid over twine, comparing it to a straight twine may not be fair since the comparison is apples to Although the twined (rather than braided) Catahoula #18 can be untwisted, it takes more effort than the #15 SGT Knot or the #42 SGT Knot. If the thicker #42 SGT Knots are too large for the blade, they can be re-shaped The bigger lines can be twisted, but the smaller lines, such as SGT #15 or Catahoula #18, cannot be easily twisted A twisted tale. 2
There are only two lines of tarred twine the lighter Catahoula and the heavier SGT Knots line. Both companies produce great tarred twine. Make sure it is braided whenever possible to avoid unintended untwisting after use. In the pictures, you can see the braided Catahoula #36 on the bottom and the SGT #42 on To show how I got to the top, I intentionally untwisted the ends but I was only able to untwist the SGT #42. My response was, however, to re-write It all ended up together in the last picture, so it may not have been as big a deal as it seemed. The odor of all four is similar, but mild. Your hands will not be soiled by any of them. It has been a long time since I reviewed.

This is awesome quality! There is a great deal on this cordage, and it is of great quality
5/5

Since it is synthetic cordage, the ends can easily be melted with a lighter to keep them from fraying after you cut off a piece. When you take the spool out of the plastic wrap, you can smell a very faint tar scent on the cord , but you have to keep it very close to your nose to notice. As the spool is out of the plastic wrap for a longer period of time, the smell begins to fade. By the end of a month, the cord will no longer smell. If you are worried about the smell, don't let it deter you from buying this because it is one of the best small cordages I've ever purchased! There will be more rolls to buy after this one. I would appreciate it if you would take the time to check the "helpful" box below if the review was helpful. I appreciate you letting me know!.

Ontime delivery & excellent twine provided by Sergeant Knots
5/5

It was a very pleasant experience ordering from The Sgt Knots and experiencing black tar twine for the first time. The amount we used on 3-1/2 was quite a bit Hiked for a day in the mountains. Purchased a 1/4lb #24. This fiber is spooled on a small, stiff core of hollow fiberboard. A nylon cordage would save weight and bulk (instead of nylon cordage). There is a semi-subjective component to it Not sticky, but it's stiff. It is possible to tie almost any type of usual camp knot with ease. Our camping trip involved sticking a tent peg through the hollow core and spooling it so that you could add weight to your shelter, hang food from the trees, secure your shelter from wind, repair broken items, mark limbs with ties rather than burning bark to alert poor The material is waterproof, stretch-resistant, and dense enough to perform its function without tearing. My favorite part of the movie is the soundtrack. Adding size (in mm or inches) to the seller's specification/description is a good way of giving buyers a cross reference to the many sizes listed in the numbering system if they are unfamiliar with the "example #24 = 1" clause. "The diameter of the bowl is 85mm".

I love how thin and manageable it is even though it's strong as they say
5/5

The tarred twine, or as it may be referred to, the tarred bankline, is a new concept to me as a soldier, I've always relied on paracord/550 cord for camping, wilderness survival, and even the basics of daily life. The problem is that 550 cord tends to be bulky and pricey. The tarred twine fills a void in my world that I had no idea I was shown some uses for this stuff that are something I had not heard of before by Dan Wowak of Coalcracker Bushcrafting (YouTube Channel). I am blown away! I bought the product #30 for the first time. Using a 6' piece of rope, I tied a bowline knot at the ends and hung my 200 pound body from the Basically, it is strong enough to anchor your tent and to use to run a line for your garden, to hang yard art, or to use with birds. In my opinion, the most important feature is that it is sturdy and thin. When I go hiking, I don't need to dedicate the entire pocket to the cord. Instead, I can carry the same length of cord but with only one-quarter of the weight. Because I do not have a plan until I see what I have to work with when I'm in the woods, I love having extra. It makes it possible to adapt to limited resources in the field for fun and survival when hiking, and this tarred twine makes it a snap to adjust to those resources. We are grateful for your service, You came through with a bang once again, As a veteran looking out for fellow veterans, I wish you and your loved ones success in your business.

An excellent alternative to 550 paracord
5/5

Tarred twine is lighter, more compact, and less expensive than 550 paracord. It also has stronger 340 - 550 paracord strength. In pound sterling While the bank line in test #36 is quite strong, the 550 pounds of static tension it can support is not enough to warrant its use. There is a problem with the commercialized, fancy-dress The cost per hundred is $10 An foot hank) is NOT a genuine military-issued device You can read the Wikipedia article about paracord to learn more about it. There is no way I can estimate how close to 550 pounds of breaking strength cheap is Fake - that's what I'll call it I highly recommend watching "Bank Line VS Paracord Shootout" on YouTube for a more detailed analysis of the pros and cons of both. It is highly likely that you will reach the following conclusions, like me Choose bank lines for their strength, compactness, and low cost. (2) Choose them if you want a variety of colors The GENUINE 550 paracord can be used for high visibility guy lines, bracelets) and is able to knot and undo itself.
