There is a tad bit of unnecessary thickness between the links of this chain and the Kryptonite Fahgetaboutit mini lock. The product won't fit into it. In any case, I used a knife to cut about an inch of the rubber around the end of the lock and I could fit the link just within the locking mechanism
If you're interested in Schlage, you should contact them. It is pointless to try to find product specifications on Amazon because consumers do not have them.
In fact, yes. It's kind of like that. By putting the end length through the Cinch Ring and attaching the Abus 37/80 lock to any length you choose, you can create an adjustable lock. As far as the end goes, once the abus is attached to a length of chain, there is no further customization possible, since the shackle clearance is only 22mm. My first attempt at fitting two links in the shackle failed. The chain cannot be 12 mm in diameter.

Compared to the kryptonite one, I bought this one for the price and because of the It is very disappointing that the welding on the cinch ring is not good. In the links, the welds are reinforced, but the cinch ring is unacceptably welded together, there is cracking along the welding, and it has no reinforcements. The welding point of the tube is also thinner with a little crevice just big enough for bolt cutters to fit into. Unless the cinch ring is included, it does not do what I need it to do. Considering how terrible the welding on the cinch ring is, I am certain that it could be cracked by a good set of bolt cutters.
I hope it will work. My four ladders were cut like butter by thieves cutting the large braided steel security cable. I had my ladders viewed by my motion detector camera, and then I hadn't. The thought I had that they were difficult to cut turned out to be wrong! In other words, pricey as these chains may be, if they work, they are worth it. Those ladders were worth $500, but I lost them in just a minute. The chain I'm using to attach my ladders to my truck is to keep them in place. Alloys supposedly made of this stuff are said to be tough, triple heat-treated, and don't run round, so bolt cutters have a harder time getting around them to cut them. A lock that looks like a hockey puck but does not allow access to the shaft of the lock is something I have. I guess they could use a battery angle grinder with a cut off blade to get through this chain, but that would take longer and make more noise. Hopefully, we can figure it out. In spite of a shortage of tools and more desperate druggies, they seem more dangerous than before. If Big Pharma didn't push drugs considerably harder than the cartel does, if government agencies dedicated to keeping watch over the drug companies were actually doing so, and if the laws did not favor criminals, and the courts didn't let these guys off the hook too soon. The guys who run the system know how it works. That being said, I must.
An overview of the Schlage 999461 chain with cinch ring is presented here. I really like the heavy duty chain that I can use to attach bikes to a bike rack on my car. 19 chain links make up the internal opening of the chain link. The diameter is 8mm (1. A 779-inch screen). Six links of the heavy duty chain were left exposed by a nice nylon sleeve on half the chain. Rather than using a road bike inner tube, I stretched a 26 x 2 mountain bike inner tube to protect my bikes. Put zip ties on the end of 5 to keep it from slipping off the exposed links. the end of the last link, I cut a hole in the inner tube to allow my Onguard Brute U-lock to fit A lock must be broken in order to pass. It is now safe to lock my bike to my car's bike rack when I am in an area with high crime.
Due to my lack of knowledge of how heavy duty this product would be, I am returning it. As I read through the specs, I thought it would not be THAT heavy, but this thing is really heavy. My (admittedly old) mother had difficulties lifting it. Perhaps you could keep one on your bike, or maybe you could stay with it in the parking lot. I was looking for something I could wrap my seat tube around and easily secure to a pole while I'm out. A ride on a bike with this monstrosity is in and of itself an errand. This bike seems really well made. I live in Los Angeles and have had three bikes stolen in the past. Trying to steal this chain would definitely not be the easiest thing to do. I'm sure any potential thief would try sawing the pole it's secure to or drilling the lock before even trying to steal it. A lock).
It's been a long time since my trailer was stolen, so I don't know if anyone has tried to steal it. Resistance to the chain, but we are convinced it will be strong enough for the spring. It took some time to see whether this would work with the spring.
There is not enough justice in the pictures on Amazon. There are no words to describe the amount of strength and durability of this chain, just from looking at the pictures on the product page. In the attached picture, the chain on the bottom is a 3/8 " grade 43 binding chain that's dwarfed by the Schlage security chain at the top. I was extremely pleased with the welds and links on the chain I received. Some of the reviews said the welds looked inferior, but they all appeared great in I received a chain that was considerably longer than 5'. The description said the chain was 5', but the one I received was at least 6". Any one who is interested in this chain should give it a try.
