A plaque with your address on it? Is this your house or someone else's? The Cat in the Hat would not allow it, unless you were in one!.
I think this is an awesome looking piece of clothing and the craftsmanship is superb, however I'm less impressed by it's instructions. of all, they don't include the masonry anchor, which was a big deal to me since I was installing the mailbox on a brick wall. Two, it says to use a 1/8" drill bit, however they failed to include that to use a 1/4" masonry drill bit with a #8 screw/anchor (only screws are included with the product). As far as I am concerned, it would be a pity if the anchor and drill bit are not included since they are inexpensive (I bought some at home depot for $1 for 10 ea. It is). The anchors should have been included at the very least. It is surely a good idea that in the future they update the product with anchors and update the instructions since many people will be installing the products on bricks or blocks. It would be advantageous to have pictures of the kit so that they could show us what is inside. In the meantime I would have been happy to pay a bit more if the set had included a complete drill bit (instead of just the bit itself). All in all, a great product. I will keep an eye on how long it takes for it to rust, and would like to update if needed.
You did a great job. If there had been wall anchors for brick walls, that would have been even better. Unless otherwise noted, only screws are included for wood walls. During the course of a project Drive the wood plugs into the holes and use the provided screws to mount the wood plugs in the bricks or mortar.
It arrived at the right time and was exactly what I expected. I like that it is solid, and looks like a good casting, which is exactly what I wanted for my.
There seems to be some good quality to the plaque itself. The product appears to be fairly sturdy and will likely last for years to come. There are only two reasons to give four stars instead of five. There is no way to use its screws in concrete because they are not meant for it. In spite of the fact that I drilled out the holes to the specifications required, the screw heads on both screws broke without much It would be ugly if you used regular concrete anchor screws (blue with hex heads). I think this would be a wonderful addition to any home.
The installation is very simple - The walls of my home are stucco, and I have a brick fireplace In my markup, I have marked & A hole was drilled in each of the 2 areas, and The anchors were nylon push-in anchors (I supplied them) & t-nuts The beautiful brass screws it came with were no problem to install. There are solid cast aluminum numbers embedded in the piece. The order was delivered within 10 days after it was ordered!.
Although the number plate feels solid, we need to wait until we expose it to the elements to see how well it holds up. Yet the screws that it came with was the thing that really pissed me off. The signs will likely be posted outdoors, so why not ship them out with screws that will work on wood, as well as screws that will work on Two screws are all it takes! Attempting to drill through my brick pillar with a screw just snapped in half, which made me more disappointed than anything else.
However, I was not aware at the time I placed my order that our HOA does not allow ANY outside additions, changes or alterations without written approval from our Board of Directors. As you can see, this is one of the small items A small, private 3-car garage is attached to each townhouse at our community The same place at the top of the garage door is a three-digit unit number sign. A day after placing my order, I went online and canceled it, explaining the reason for my decision. My email to the seller was never responded to. My cancellation request was not returned for another day and I went back to cancel again. However, no response had been received so I went back to cancel. In the end, I tried to get in touch with Amazon rather than the seller. However, because of the COVID situation and staffing constraints as well as the fact that this is a 3rd party seller, I wasn't able to. In order to get to the point of this review, I finally received an email from the seller, who told me that they could not cancel my order since it was immediately processed once they received it. I do not understand why they never responded to my numerous emails. I view this as in poor business practice. Therefore, I'm stuck with an item that was built specially for my home that will only 'work' for my house, and I'm not allowed to use it and neither is anyone else who purchases the house after I'm gone. In the event that there is ever an estate sale when I die, what are the odds that I will have the EXACT same number as someone else does? Here in the United States, they will definitely be prohibited from using it!.
