I will document here my concerns with this product given that Grand Central Supply is an Amazon storefront. Back in July of 2019, I installed the dark black L-shaped lock and handle on my son's new shed. Several months had passed since the door had been opened, both in the summer and late fall. It is normal for the shed materials to experience some expansion and contraction during the first year of use. A few days after the first week in November, my son tried to open the door. It was then that the door was stuck against the upper right corner of the frame. My son's little finger was torn deeply when the handle, which was used to open the door, broke in his hand, causing him to pull on it to open that door. (See the attached photos). Whether this particular handle broke due to a defect or poor quality of the product is unknown to me, but I am reporting this incident for safety reasons, not to mention that this lock set is now ruined and my son suffered pain and discomfort. I see David J White as being well-qualified.
For the screws to go in, a square bit is needed. You can only install it if you have So, in this case, the screws are exposed on the outside of the door, so anyone who has a square bit can remove the screws. Although it remains unexplainable why the screws on the inside of the door were exposed, the locking mechanism on the inside of the door would prevent the lock from being easily removed. The original handle on our Leonard building broke after six years (after being in service). It was difficult to find a replacement handle, so I read the reviews about this and decided this would work. My order arrived faster than expected and I was able to install it myself without any problems. If it weren't for the fact that it wasn't as heavy as the original handle, I would have rated this five stars. In any case, here's hoping it lasts a little longer. We would highly recommend this item and wouldn't hesitate to buy it.
I was very happy with the purchase. I love how well it works and how well it looks! All I had a problem with was getting extra keys created. We were not able to find keys that worked at the local stores like Lowe's and Agway. The main reason could have been that the key cutters were inexperienced, but I went to a locksmith and got two keys that worked for the same price.
