Questions & Answers

Can you tell me exactly how high the slider is?

My guess is that it was a little too tight and didn't slide very I would guess that it was just a bit over the 12" stated. Tin snips from the aircraft (harbor freight) were used to remove approximately 1/8 inch. Making it was a very simple process. As a result, it slides smoothly.

I'm here. What is the purpose of the smaller part of this product? Does it act as a backing to prevent flies from getting into the slider?

The items are in two In the case of the slider, the smaller piece is fixed on the latch side of door and seals the opening when it is closed.

There was a closed end to my original when it closed there was no big gap between it and the cover. Do you think it's the same as that one?

As this is raised, the gap would still exist without the end piece. It would be better if you used another style of

The term Wide Tracks means how wide are the tracks?

My guess is that it is the wide edge itself that goes into the door track. Summer was too hot for ours to pop out.

Replacing the screen door slider on the Amerimax is a good idea
5/5

-The screen door on my twelve year old Forest River bumper trailer's Amerimax screen door (no longer manufactured) was damaged by a broken 12 x 12 slider. Having tried both a Camco replacement (way too thin) and a Valterri replacement (didn't fit right), both were returned. I liked how this option turned out. It's easy to install the slider in the tracks with a slight bend, and it slides smoothly. A sturdy plastic is used in the production of this product. It took me a while to drill holes for the stop, but it was very worthwhile because the complete panel and stop work well together and look amazing. I was a little disappointed that I could not obtain this product in a clear finish, and that I had to provide my own screws to install the stop, but those were small issues that were not worth It is cautionary to install the stop on a door if you don't have existing holes in your door to match it. If you are going to drill your new screw holes for the stop, be sure to determine where the stop will go when the panel is closed. For this reason, drill the new screw holes first.

This is a replacement part that matches the original part exactly
5/5

The following points have been noted by other reviewers It is a little hard to close the sliding panel due to the edges- What a great idea! This makes it easy to make exactly the right fit for your door and ensures the piece is perfectly sized. My opinion is that it is not a quality issue as some saw it, but more of an option for personalizing a With the use of just a pair of scissors, the adjustment was made in less than 5 minutes, and the sizing and installation were complete. We've had it for a month now and it fits perfectly and looks great-that's probably even stronger than what was in our 2003 motorhome! The product was excellent and I would purchase it.

I think it was a good purchase
5/5

Seeing that it could be replaced, I jumped at the opportunity. Our RV slider was loose and broken so when I saw that it could be replaced, I was thrilled. Our new one didn't line up exactly as our old one as far as screwing it in at the same places, but it was adaptable, and now I am able to use it much more easily. Even if we didn't need to replace the whole door, it was still a considerable expense.

The previous owner did not fully install the slider in my motorhome, so it didn't fit completely
5/5

I drove in a car that rumbled horrible. This one fits snugly and fills the entire gap because I measured the slider area. To install my handle, I had to drill new holes in my screen door, but I did not find it to be a I like the fit and it works well.

Weight is light, but fit is excellent

The new ones are lighter than the old ones, but they still fit and perform as expected. For what they are, I believe they are expensive.

It would be impossible to install a door stop
3/5

A Keystone Cougar 5th wheel is one of our travel trailers. I had to trim a little off the panel to make it fit, which was not a major issue. I put on the door stop, but none of the screw holes matched and the length of the stop was too short to be able to modify it. I had to use an old door stop that does not match the panel and I have left a gap through which bugs can get in. As much as I would love to return.

I really like the way it fits
5/5

It's more economical than the Amerimax cover I had which was yellow, rough, and wouldn't stay on the slots. So, I got this and I could not be happier. I think you could size it down with a good pair of scissors if it doesn't fit right as is. In addition, the package comes with a door handle that you can see in the picture but I didn't notice. The screw holes don't work with the old handle so I won't put it on until I really need it, but it's good to have one laying around.

I really like the look of this
4/5

The door was a little big for my car, so I wondered if that would be an issue. There's no need to worry about it sliding, but it functions My RV is quite old, so perhaps that is why it is acting up.
