These are very well-made and perform admirably. However, an allen screw (accessible from the back side of the bolt) is used to secure the leaf spring that holds the bolt up from the mounting surface. One of mine had a screw that didn't go all the way in and extended below the back surface of the bolt, causing it to drag on the surface, making it difficult to slide the bolt and gouging the drawer's surface. It was fine after I screwed it in with an allen wrench; I checked the rest, and some were a little loose, but not badly.
This appears to be a good product that is simple to install and sturdy, but the depth of the stroke was not mentioned in the description. Because the locking rod can only reach a maximum length of 5/8", I had to make some adjustments to my project. As a result, I was only able to give it a four-star rating. A 3" length would have a longer stroke than a 3/4" stroke, I reasoned. I shouldn't put too much effort into thinking.
In addition, the advertisement stated that I would receive two packs, but I only got one. I got a partial refund from Amazon, so I went ahead and ordered something else.
You must correctly install the latch and latch plate. There isn't much room for error here. To make installation easier, I wish the latch plate was a little wider and longer.
Pros I just put these up on my office fence and they're already working. This is exactly why I bought these: the sound is much more isolated within my office now. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product. 3/5 stars because I believe the price is too high for what it is; It's basically a pool noodle wrapped in vinyl. By the looks of it, a do-it-yourselfer could make these quickly and for a lot less money.
I used these to replace some old brass ones. It looks fantastic. I still need to touch up the paint on these, but I'm pleased with them.
It's extremely difficult to put together, and the screws are too short to provide any kind of security.
The spring inside was not stiff enough to keep the bolt from falling down when installed vertically, and to be fair, this was a mobile situation because it was installed in a bus conversion. Horizontal installations are a breeze.
