Locks can only be keyed using won Kee patterns, but you could make an unlimited number of copies of the keys. The pins are reset to one pattern when you program the lock.
In the event that you need a double-check When you are looking for a keyed lock (keyed lock with lever and key on both sides), look for a "double-keyed" one In English, this is known as "key" or "double-key" This deadbolt has a "cylinder" design.
Neither of us know, but I know that my door is 1" wide. The longest measurement is 75 inches. The lock set and deadbolt on this door are both keyed alike.
There is no difference in smartkeys, but you must have the original key in order to reset it to a new one. Once you have rekeyed your lock, your new key becomes the original, so unless your landlord also has a copy of the new key, he will not be able to gain access to your apartment.

A non-profit organization An example of a standard turnbutton position is shown below. Assemblies for knobs need to be filed. There is no tool included in the set to invert the cylinder, so you need to order a free tool if you want the keyway to be right side up on a left-handed cylinder It is on the left hand side. state that if it's upside down, it's OK. I am not OK with them, but maybe they agree! 1) Tool looks cheap and should be included. It will take me several more hours to disassemble half of them after the tool arrives, so I need to return and reassemble them once it The following issue also needs to be addressed A Kwikset lock has a vertical turnbuttons for locked locking, and a horizontal turnbuttons for unlocked locking. I have never seen anything like it before, and it is very weird and unintuitive. The reason I bought these was that they seem to come from a patent that is owned by Kwikset. Similar tech is offered by other manufacturers, so I'd go to them! Here is another concern Making a 2-inch cut is stated in the directions Holes are 1/8" in diameter. The steel door I have has a pre-cut 2-inch groove There is a 1/8 " hole, but when you mount the knob, the cover plate stands about 1 inch tall A 2 mm margin must be left on either side of the door. Despite the knob assy being attached to the door, there is a gap between them. It turns out that there are two studs on the knob assembly casting that are 2-inch long There is a 3/8" space between each of them In order to get the knob assembly to fit snugly to the door, some of them had to be filed off. The studs behind wood doors are likely intended to provide safety by penetrating the relatively soft Hopefully, Kwikset will be aware that there are lots of steel doors out there, and maybe some directions would be useful!.
The update for 7/25/19 has been posted Anyway, after spraying it with spray graphite and rekeying the handset over and over again, I am happy to report I have now fixed the handset. Locking and unlocking the handset has become smooth and effortless after about 5 attempts. My deadbolt worked perfectly the first time I used it without the need to lubricate it. As a matter of fact, they will always send you replacement parts if needed. Their customer service is excellent in this regard. You don't need to answer any questions. The phone can be very busy and it could take a long time to get a live individual therefore, I suggest using the website instead. There is indeed a wait time of up to 10 days for parts to arrive. In the past Various Kwikset smartkey sets have been part of my life ever since they first appeared. The year 2010 probably belongs to this period. Since I got my laptop, it has been running really well and I have had few issues. In the past, we have rekeyed some of these with a problem where the deadbolt rekeyed just fine and the new key worked smoothly, but the knob/handle turned poorly once rekeyed for whatever reason. You need to yank it a little bit and twist it a little before it even turns. In hopes of solving the issue, I tried re-keying over and over again. It doesn't work that way. There has been a problem for only a short period of time with the key in my son's It could just be the cylinder in these units is more temperamental with certain key cuts? Or perhaps it's an issue with Quality Control? My Kwikset knob is not here yet, so I will have to wait from 7 to 10 days until someone sends it to me. My only hope is that the new part will work smoothly once we rekey it.
There is no doubt that these locks perform It works well with the Smartkey technology. Previous to that, others had installed them for me. In response, I decided to install four sets of these locks and deadbolts on four doors at my son's home. In my attempt to rekey 6 locks/deadbolts, I managed to get 50% One of them seems to work with any Kwikset key, and two of them appear to be permanently locked. To date, I have not been able to fix the problems using the videos that Kwikset has on its web site. The job is done and I will hire a locksmith to finish it - The contractor and handyman at my other houses had no trouble at all, so maybe you will not have any problems as well. In other words, I think the problem is me, but I'm not inept when it comes to DIY projects, so you might want to consider that before installing the locks. (Update I did it. My Locksmith told me that he can't fix the problem if the setup doesn't work. Then I needed to have new locks installed.
The kind of person who It would never occur to the burglar to be aware of the theft. Even if he/she tries, they may not be able to succeed. Having the keys made for me didn't cost anything, and I had them ready in minutes. It took us 20 seconds to rekey them to our existing key, and they were simple to install The original set was replaced with this We did not need to modify anything. Here, I noticed one review that stated the screws kept falling out. The thread lock on each is probably not going to be a problem, since I put a few drops on each. So, in a nutshell, they're great and they work well. I was able to install them easily, and for $30, it was well worth it. There is only one question I have Why are they still selling Anyone can make a bump key with a file, a rubber band, and a screwdriver that will serve as a master key for most locks with a file, rubber band, and a screwdriver. Even bump key manufacturers sell their own products. If your locks aren't bump proof, what's the point of locking them? People are only kept out by them who are honest. It would be a good idea for those who don't upgrade to set up an estate sale sign. Everything.
