Questions & Answers

Does it matter?

Hello Yvonne, two and one eighth inches is my measurement. The item is of a nice substantial size, does not look cheap or flimsy. The finish is rich. Would be happy to take a picture of it once it is installed if you send me your text number or email address. This photograph looks far better than the previous one.

Can the knob be installed on a bare door (as well as the opposite one) with the hardware included?

You will find all the hardware you need to install it in the box. It also includes instructions on how to drill a hole into the door first. If you have not drilled a hole yet, follow them. I was surprised to see how easy they were to install!

Does this work as a knob on an exterior door that does not lock?

My business is renting out apartments, and I use these knobs in conjunction with deadbolts. In addition to being able to save money by doing this, tenants are less likely to lock themselves out of their apartment when they have to lock the door behind them on their There is no difference between hall and closet knobs and locking exterior knobs, except that hall and closet knobs neither lock nor unlock.

In comparison to the ones you've owned before, what is the noise level of this knob? As my hardware ages, it becomes loud and loose, which results in my partner getting annoyed. ?

I am actually using two, one for my bedroom and one for my bathroom, and they are very quiet, and how easy and simple it is to install, removing the old door knob and installing the new one took me only a few minutes.

Quickset is better than Schlage, despite the fact that it is harder to say
5/5

There is a Schlage knob on the door and a We have a lot of fun saying "Schlage. ". Just sounds like it must be a quality product. It really is a great wrench, and it sounds like a great name. In terms of how smoothly and how long they have held up, Quickset knobs (identical make as Schlages) have turned much more smoothly and are more durable. Five minutes were all it took to install it to replace a Schlage. I'm here! IF YOU PUT THIS IN, DO NOT REMOVE THE SCREWS THAT ATTACH THE DOOR KNOBS BESIDES THEM. There is no need for you to do it. Their twisting causes them to split apart. The installation process will take you about 40 or 50 seconds shorter this way! This can be used to learn a whole new word in Russian, or you could watch a video explaining how to make mayonnaise on YouTube!.

It's easy to install, but the screws are on the wrong side of the knob
4/5

As I was updating my bedroom, I needed to find a new door knob with a lock that would be easy to use. In my opinion, I just needed a lock that would work for simply locking the door when I wanted privacy and that would still fit into the existing hole in the door from the old I thought this was a pretty good fit for the bill. A nice grip can also be found on the brass, which is clean-looking. I was pleased that the component was of good quality for the price paid. It fit perfectly into the existing hole and I did not even have to change the inner components of the door since it was compatible with the existing parts. There is no need to deal with different sized parts or plates that would need to be tweaked constantly. Putting this knob in its place was simple. I unscrewed the old one, inserted it, tightened the screws, and it worked like a charm. For me to complete the process, it probably took about five or ten minutes. There is a knob which turns both ways on both sides of the door, and the lock works effectively. With the lock in place, you cannot open the door from either side, nor can you lock it from the other side, so it is very hard to make a mistake of accidentally locking the door. If you lock the door after you close it from the other end, there is an emergency key inside the slot that you can place in the slot in case the door cannot be opened. The only negative for me is that the screws are located on the other side of the door (the side without a The knobs can be unscrewed from either end to get into the room, so if someone wanted to get inside they simply had to unscrew them from the other end. I'm not sure how the screws ended up on the knob's other side. There has been a tendency for the screws in knobs to be on the same side of the lock for this reason. I can only think of one negative with this. However, I am equally astonished by the fact that they offered it the other way for no known reason. Perhaps I was not aware you have to also select a knob that has the screws on the same side of the lock. If someone can just unscrew the knob with a lock if they want it bad enough, that defeats the purpose of having one with a lock. I am happy with it although it is definitely a good knob. The fit is perfect, and the function is accurate. It is important to note that the screws are on the other side of the door before purchasing this device, as that could be a problem for people who want it secure on the other side. Generally, you have nothing to fear if you aren't really worried about someone unscrewing the door knob from the opposite side of the door (I'm not worried so I'll keep the door knob). The knob is great for a simple door knob with a simple turn lock for a bathroom or bedroom.

It's a good product, except for some handles that clicked, and I had to mortise the latch faceplate deeper than I expected
4/5

I highly recommend Kwikset doorknobs because they are attractive, have a smooth operation, and are very reasonably priced. Furthermore, it is easy to install them The two problems I had were, however, separate. I found two problems with the doorknobs I boughtthe first was that about a third of the knobs had a manufacturing tolerance problem, which resulted in an audible click when they were turned Four depressions in the metal shell of the doorknob hold it to the metal frame, but on some knobs, the crimping still allowed movement of the outer shell relative to the inner frame, resulting in an audible click (which was quite loud in some cases). As a short-term fix for this problem (at least for now), I applied a little superglue into the four strategic points where the doorknob shell meets the frame and slipped the rosette (the decorative flange part) off the I also had a problem because the latch faceplate (not the strike) has a second plate behind it, which makes it much thicker than the latch plate on my old model. Despite the fact that this provided a little extra strength, it also meant that I had to chisel the mortise deeper so that the faceplate would lay flat against the door edge. In spite of these aggravations, I would still choose Kwikset Juno doorknobs in the future, as they felt more substantial than competitive doorknobs, and were a great I'd like to know if you found this review helpful by clicking the button.

First glance and inspection of the ones used, they appeared to be in good condition
5/5

Despite that, though. As part of the remodeling of my house, I have been replacing every single door knob. A family who basically remodeled and sold this home to us only bought it and remodeled First glance and inspection of the ones used, they appeared to be in good condition. The door knobs on all the most popular doors had either become loose or had lost their finish within a couple of years. As soon as I took the first out, it became evident what an inferior product they were in comparison to the Kwiksets. Thankfully, these are covered by a lifetime warranty, so if I run into the same issue again in the future, I can contact the company. On the other hand, the exposed screws on both sides of the tubing As far as the locking side is concerned, they aren't visible thanks to the size of the knob. That gives me a sense of security because outside locks of this style do not have screws on the side where the key goes, so I'm comfortable with that. To prevent a young one from getting stuck in the bathroom without reopening the lock, you can remove the lock from the outer side (more or less a suggestion).
