I bought this product to deal with the hinges on three doors for which I had to build custom jambs. It is not necessary to remove or adjust the hinges that came with the doors as the included bearing guides/templates fit seamlessly. I also had an interior/exterior door that required a custom jamb, and the hinges on it were larger than what could be accommodated by this unit. The hinges should be routed by hand. The procedure is quite simple, as it turns out. Trace around the hinge with a utility knife, score the wood slightly deeper than you plan to route it, and then proceed to free-hand it a little bit Routing by hand is the best option. Whenever the big chunk of wood gets close to the score mark, the wood will chip away, leaving these nice neat edges. For hinges that fit this unit does the design of the hinge for you, but setting the depth of the hinge is the biggest challenge. It is simply a matter of depth of the hinge The door itself has whatever is on it. Measure the depth on the jamb on the door, and you have your depth measurement.

The following nbsp Something about this just doesn't make sense to me. You can watch my video of me holding the phone one-handed. There is no need to screw down the insert, it slides through as you screw it down. In this bracket, the router guide does not have a lip to hold it The bracket is bent so it will clamp the insert down, and then I estimate the depth by feeling that the insert edge is flush with the bracket edge, which means that the insert is the right depth (cheesy and guesswork). As other reviewers have noted, this is a problem. I find the price to be grossly excessive for the service provided.

I'll have to find a new template since 5/8 radius template does not route a tight fit. 1/32 is too sloppily done for my tastes The following is the measurement range 1/16"- 1/4" Because the radi are not in sync, the gap is noticeable The answer is probably no I think it isn't the hinges since the original hinge pockets fit like a glove. If you are an expert, you can pass.

My 1970's hollow doors cost me $50 each to replace with a nice 6 panel door from Lowe's. After buying a $99 Dewalt battery-powered router and following the instructions, I had my network up and running. Here we go! It only took me a day to replace six doors! Ensure the depth of the frame is not too deep. Otherwise, the inside of the door will push against it.

The value for money here is excellent. The system works well, I have to say. It produced smooth cuts thanks to the router bit it came with. There was a little work to be done, but not enough to be complained It is the router bit itself that I feel is the real bonus from The only problem I found was that I had to replace the screws that hold the jig in place due to multiple in and outs. If you bought a door that required a mortise for hinges and want to make it inexpensively, this is the tool you want!.

Furthermore, the Ryobi clamped themselves together instead of screwing them in.

As a competitor, I had used and owned competitive options, and I was looking for something more durable than my other jigs so I thought about this Milescraft option. I was astonished by how rugged this boat was.
