Questions & Answers

When this closer is mounted on an inswing door, does it mount on the inside or outside face?

In order to mount the closer on the inside of the door, you must have a door casing The closer is mounted on the swing side of the door so that when you open the door and close it, it closes Basically, the only thing that mounts on the face of the door is a piece of plastic that a metal rod pushes against when the door is closed.

It is quiet. Is there anything you can do about that? This seems to be a very loud voice when heard by oneself Hence the closure. There is a lubricant on the surface, but I am not sure where to spray it?

Apply lubricant by spraying silicone spray in the gaps between the unit arms and allowing it to dry

I am wondering if these would work on a gate or door that opens in and out if I put two of them one on each side? Or would there be interference swinging it the opposite way?

There is a side of the door that works when it is open A swing.

Where do I find the solution to my spring losing tension?

The answer is no. It is not possible to access the spring.

It would have been a GREAT product if it had not been compromised by that cheap plastic piece
3/5

This product has a lot of positive aspects for me Almost everything was fine - just one thing was extremely annoying. A part that goes onto the door itself, called the slide. In the remainder of the item, you do a very good job A sturdy and well-built product The problem is There is a weak link in the team All of this depends on one thing To install the channel, screw it into the door itself. There is a flimsy, brittle piece of plastic that cracked as I was installing it. The cracks now cause it to push against the airbag, and I have to remove it from the assembly. Getting stuck with the closing rod While both OPEN and CLOSE operations are in progress. Basically, it's this To install the $0. 60 mechanism in the door, mount a solid / sturdy METAL spring loaded mechanism to the door frame, then align / install the $0. 60 mechanism. The door was fitted with a piece of plastic numbered 0001. As soon as the push-ins are in place, you screw them in The rod should be inserted in one of the available holes in the spring. Ensure that the loaded side is tight and turn it to achieve this. In this case, the tool gives you a second, shorter rod to assist you, so you can hold the tension on the spring with one rod, while you unscrew the second rod and advance it The spring must be wound tight enough to close the door before you install it. Alternate the rods until you get the snug fit. It would be best if you used something long and comfortable that has a very wide handle, like a variable-length cane You should utilize the tip screwdriver body to get the best leverage for the one post you have to leave out during each step of the winding process. A short rod is especially useful You will be MUCH easier to hold once the spring gets loaded to a level similar to a door closing). Anyway, I want to let you know that In the course of installing Prior to thinking of the "ADVICE" I gave you, I would like to say that In an instant, one of the rods slipped out of my fingertips, slammed against the door, and cracked the chunk I'm talking about the plastic rods. It was mounted to the door through a channel. Slight scratches were also visible on the slide-rod tip, which contributed to it catching in the channel as well. There appears to be a need to tweak the touch-down point in the push-down to make it work A rod is a wheel The best "face" to use in the channel is found by finding different angles of the Anyway, I want to let you know that It was protected by just a tiny piece of plastic, but the doors themselves were much more expensive than that. The problem is What's the difference between doing what you have to do and doing nothing? The end is in sight As I wound the spring tight enough to close the outside door (even though it was a slight breeze outside), it closed easily. The damaged side was the side furthest from the push-pin, so I rotated the channel back into place. It was tightened by tightening the rod. In addition to the main spring screw holes, there were "cosmetic" covers on those holes. The loaded part of the vehicle The problem is The dimple in the CENTER of the slide-guide channel had nothing to fill it, and the dimple, at the very top, was open. Therefore, the rod is another reason for its existence. As a result of the rotation (some positions were caught in this spot both opening and closing), some positions closed. I have one final thought to share with you. I want to start with this. - If I am going to get an entirely cheap piece of plastic that the whole mechanism would rely on, then I would rather. . . Put in two or three as part of I just wanted to let you know I have one more thing to say A piece of material that snaps over the tip of the push-button would be helpful Once it is installed, and it will not need to be moved away from the surface of the door constantly (especially during periods of tension), it could be installed to a smoother, more finished, more operable I SEE A THIRDS RISE I want you to give me something to fill the screw with - -There is a dimple in the channel of the slide I recommend that you do the following It should be a two-fer - a piece of furniture Over the channel, which is snapped onto the mounting part, the mounting part is screwed in. The slide should NOT have holes in the The fourth point is If you give me something other than plastic, I will appreciate it If you're holding a 2" rod against 100 lbs of torque and it slips out of your hands, and you slam into it, there has to be an inexpensive enough material that lets the rod slide as well as not shattering This is the fifth issue I would like to do away with the slide channel altogether. The rod would be more effective if the tip had a ball - shears) - There's no need to provide a flat or a It needs to be decorated with some tape for it to roll over (instead of the door) and FINALLY - it MUST be packaged. Did I mention that this otherwise GREAT device became worthless to me due to a SUPER CHEAP and BRITTLE piece of plastic? This is SO. What do I think of it? Should I buy it or The answer to this question is YES. You should only do it if When you read the installation instructions you were TOLD that it is easy to damage this super cheap piece of the product - don't install it. At least you had that in mind before you arrived In the event that the weakest link could be addressed If this product was five-star, we would be ecstatic at the results. The price is too good to be true, especially for this price.

It's amazing how well they work
5/5

It is not as small as it seems. The average inside door is no problem for them to close. It may or may not be necessary to use two exit doors for heavy exit doors. With their excellent adjustment system, you can have them close quickly with a slam or slowly and quietly A soft click signals the end of the procedure. The tiny speakers are so small that when mounted low they are barely noticeable at all. About 5 years ago, I bought my first one and it has served me well ever since. Voici a tip A doorstop might be a good idea, too, just in case you want to leave your door open for a little while. The one with a hinge that you screw into the door and you flip up and down is my favorite Grasp your toe with both hands.

The device was easy to use, easy to install, easy to adjust, and the features worked perfectly
5/5

Don't waste time, just get it already. It's amazing how much this little device can do! We bought it to slow down our door in order to prevent it from closing too quickly. It was very easy to install and adjust. Our door was fitted with spring loaded hinges by previous tenants, so it slammed shut every time. There is nothing worse than waking up at 3 in the morning to a slammed shut door, especially when your toddler has bad dreams and gets in the room. I got this little device to see if it could help slow the door down, and it worked great! With a few clicks of a button, we can easily adjust that the door now closes silently, or we can adjust it so that it stays open about one To date, it has been great!.

Any reason why I wouldn't recommend this product to others is beyond me
3/5

I stripped all threads in the spring box the first time I tried to use the threaded tension rod. For over half a century, I managed a large machine shop and manufacturing plant, and only very rarely did I strip the threads upon changing the screw. In addition, I do not have any metric threading taps and my clients, large vegetable oil mills, requested that metric bolts and nuts not be used In order to use the second spring assembly I bought, I will have to replace the first one. Any reason why I wouldn't recommend this product to others is beyond me.

I would highly recommend this product, and it is no longer equipped with screw plates (which is an improvement)
5/5

Described as working as intended. In one or two minutes it can be installed and it works smoothly and quietly after installation. There is no trouble moving a heavy wooden gate that I have it on. Though the product has changed, the concept has remained the same. No longer are the screws held in place by the horizontal plates in the upper and lower parts of the cabinet. In the dome part of the product, there are holes that go through which the screws pass, Cleaner and easier installation is achieved with this method. As a result of the plates no longer being visible, this is a simpler design. Because there is a deeper hole in which to place the screws, it keeps them in place perfectly, so you don't even need to hold them while you screw them in. I think the only problem is that it might put pressure The door is in a tight corner, so I can only turn the spring 90 degrees at a time. When you are switching between the bars to set the tension, you may need to use some creativity. I used a screwdriver to adjust the first 45 degrees. I used the little bar to get 90 degrees, and then used the big bar to get the other 90 degrees. Excellent product, even after all these years.
