The lock and key set for the grandfather clock has been replaced. This is compatible with most modern grandfather clocks from Ridgeway, Howard Miller, Sligh, and other manufacturers. In most cases, it will fit easily, but you may need to make some adjustments to get it to work. This is dependent on how the clock case was constructed in the first place. 1 3/4" long, 1" wide, and 3/8" deep is the approximate size of the lock. Two mounting screws, a key, a keyhole cover, and two brads are included.

I'm not sure what you're talking about, but the distance between the lock hole and the key hole on the outside of the door is about one inch. In the review, I'll include a photo. I hope you find this information useful.

Is this compatible with Howard Miller's grandfather clock, which was introduced in 1978?

Howard Miller was born in 1978, and I have a copy of his work. It was the perfect fit.

How long does the key last? I'd like to use it on a liquor cabinet, but the key must be at least an inch and a half long. ?

The key is 1 1/2 " long, and it will clear about 1 1/4 inch of wood door.

The issue has been resolved! More than 20 years ago, we bought a Sligh grandfather clock

The lock mechanism became worn out as a result of opening it to wind the clock and change the chime sound. Sligh had gone out of business, and the lock mechanism was no longer available, according to the clock store. I looked up Sligh clock lock mechanism on Amazon on the spur of the moment, and this is what I found. I tried it and got an exact solution in 5 minutes. It only took two wood screws to remove the old mechanism and replace it with the new one, and the problem was solved! It appears to be brand new. 5 Stars!.

BUYING FROM THIS SELLER IS NOT RECOMMENDED. This was ordered to replace the grandfather clock's original locking mechanism. Instead of an antiqued brass looking lock, I received a bright, shiny, cheap looking lock, which was not quite like the picture shown on Amazon's website. I figured I could make do with some brown gel stain and a little elbow grease. But. When I tried to turn the key in the lock, no matter how hard I tried, it would not turn. It's returning to its previous position. It seems like whenever I buy something from a third-party vendor on Amazon, I get something that isn't what I expected. Amazed by Amazed by Amazed by Amazed.

My grandfather clock is a Howard Miller Grandfather clock that I bought new in 1986. While the door was open and the lock was in the "locked" position a few years ago, the key broke off in the lock. I couldn't close the door all the way at that point. I eventually took out the lock so I could close the door completely, but it wouldn't stay shut. "I'm curious if Amazon has this lock," I wondered one day. " I went on the hunt and lo and behold, I discovered the exact lock for my clock! The following day, I had it!
