I'm trying not to be too harsh on this winding key. It has 5 different (even) sizes of winding keys in one unit, and I don't think the quality is bad. The issue is that winding a grandfather clock with such a large number of gears takes a long time. key with a leverage of almost nil I've only worked on three grandfather clocks, but they all use a Size 8 key, so the other four sizes on this tool are useless to me. It's useful to have in your pocket if you're going to see an unfamiliar clock, but it's inconvenient for weekly winding.
I own an old seth thomas beehive mantle clock. Because of the length of the key and its proximity to the hinge side of the clock door face, I read that one reviewer was unable to use it. That was not an issue for me.
It's great to hear it chime once more.
It's great that there are five sizes to choose from because I had no idea which one would fit my clock. Arrived on time and in a well-protected package.
If you're looking for a grandfather watch, this is the largest size key available; all other sizes are useless.
My sister brought a clock that she had no idea how to operate. She tried to use my key, but it was too small for her. As a result, I ordered this one from Amazon, and it worked flawlessly. Her clock has chimes as well as a timer that goes up and down. She's overjoyed that it's working. The key arrived in the mail in a timely manner as well.
Rcv'd much quicker than anticipated. It's the perfect size for my clock.
Both of our grandfather clocks were able to be used. I like the various keys in particular. This applies to both of our clocks as well as an antique clock owned by a family member.
