It's coated with something because I put mine in a shower stall and it hasn't rusted yet, but the screws that came with it and the base it's attached to rusted, so I sealed it around the edges after replacing them! Since then, there have been no issues.
My contractor used the same hardware to install this hook into ceramic tile.
Yes. To avoid cracking your slab, use the proper drill bit. I recently completed a bathroom remodel and had no trouble mounting the mirror on the wall marble.
The mounting system's holes are spaced 1" apart. Screw the back plate in place and then slide the hook through the holes in the real plate to complete the installation. The back plate is 1 5/8" x 1 1/2" in size. I hope this has been of assistance.

This is a substantial, well-made, and lovely piece of art. It was only because of this that I did not give it 5 stars. The Hook is designed to slide down over the wall bracket. So. When you remove the towel from the hook, it sometimes also removes the hook from the bracket. I'm going to try bending the two tabs on the bracket where the hook is attached. I'm hoping that by doing so, I'll be able to secure the connection and prevent the hook from dislodging in the future. It's worth noting that it only comes off once in a while, and only when my adolescent uses it.
DELTA could have made my life easier, which would have made me even happier. How? by securing the walls with some anchors br>br>Because I couldn't use a wall stud for my needs, wall anchors would have been a huge help.
Murphy s Law is in effect as usual, in that I don not need wall anchors 90% of the time when wall anchors are included. But really DELTA grand poobahs/decision bosses , how much could a couple of plastic anchors cost? Fortunately I had some stored up a bunch of anchors from those 90%ers so br>br>Perhaps your accountants advised you to save $XXX by eliminating wall anchors from all wall-mounted products? Well, I believe you've made a mistake. (It was a joke).
However, this item includes a mounting bracket that fails to meet even China's low quality standards. The visible hook part of the bracket is secured by two tabs. Regrettably, the two parts mentioned were not compatible. br>I had to transport the bracket to my shop. The bracket was able to mate with the hook after bending the tabs out. br>Even when all parts are mated, the hook can be moved left or right a small amount (roughly 1/8th of an inch) by applying light pressure to the lower part of the hook.
The product looks great and is of good quality, but the mounting bracket and method are a disaster. It merely sits on the bracket without being anchored in place, which means it will come off with a light tug and will wiggle on the bracket.
They're only useful if you carefully and slowly lift whatever you've got on the hook off of it. They don't attach to the wall/door clips; instead, they sit on top of them. When you take something off with the hook slightly raised, it falls to the ground. If you have hardwood or tile floors, expect dents and cracks because the hooks are quite heavy.
I was looking for towel hooks for my master bathroom and came across these. I let them sit in my shopping cart for a few weeks while I looked for a less expensive alternative; while I would have purchased this hook without hesitation if I only needed one, I wanted them in multiple locations for convenience and wasn't willing to pay $30 for a few simple hooks. I caved and bought two of these after weighing my options; I'm glad I did, and I'll be ordering more in the future. They are substantial in size, appear to be entirely made of metal, and have a nice finish that matches the rest of my bathroom's fixtures perfectly. My only disappointment was that the included hardware did not include drywall anchors; I don't think I'll need them for my intended installation locations, but it would have been nice to have anchors that matched the size of the included screws just in case. Obviously, this was not significant enough for me to deduct a star from my review because I found these to be an excellent product.
br>I chose satin nickel to go with the rest of the door handles and shower controls. br>I put one next to the shower to hang towels, robes, and other items so it's easy to grab what you need when you get out. br>I hung six near the front door to hang coats, backpacks, umbrellas, and other items as you enter. br>A single hook can easily hold my heavy biker leather jacket as well as a backpack. Unless they are mounted in solid wood, they will not be secure. br>If the two inside prongs of the wall mount don't make the hook bracket fit snugly, you'll need to tap each prong in with a hammer until the hook fits snugly and doesn't move. br>It can be difficult to get several in a row to look even, but I enjoy them. br>The only disadvantage is that hooks are quite expensive.
We recently purchased a home, and the previous owner built a towel rack in the bathroom using standard coat hooks. Those, on the other hand, were not designed to hang wet items from and quickly rusted, ruining several of my towels with stubborn rust spots. I bought some cheap hooks on Amazon, which I quickly realized were worthless and not worth the trouble of returning. So I decided to splurge on these, and they're absolutely stunning! You're not going to be let down.
