This kit includes mounting hardware for use on drywall or wood. If you have no other choice, I would look for a different bathroom towel hook.
2 inches and 3/4 inch
No - It is secured to the wall/door with a few screws and anchors.
Why not? It's possible that it'll corrode more quickly in the long run.

This is an awful product. Although it appears to be in good condition, the assembly fixtures are broken. The molly spins after it is installed, making it impossible to tighten the screws. Furthermore, when attempting to screw it in, the screws are too long and hit the opposite side of the door. I'd like to return it, but I'm stuck with it because my door now has two holes in it. Finally, the hooks are rounded and have a tendency to slip. It's not big enough to fit a towel in. The towel is snatched away from the table. It's only useful for robes or other items with a loop to hook into. If you still want it, apply super glue to it before tapping in the molly alloy so the molly won't slip once it's dry. To secure the hook fixture to the bracket, you'll need a small screwdriver. I would suggest investing in a new light fixture.
Hooks are essential for children. These are 98% of the time. By 1/8", the size is slightly larger. In less than 5 minutes, I was able to install three of them. The quality of all AmazonBasics products has been superior, and the price has been lower. so far.
The set screw that secures the hook to the mounting bracket is far too long, which is why I gave it four stars instead of five. It protrudes 1/8" from the escutcheon's bottom. 1/4"! The set screw stands out like a sore thumb because it is zinc plated. br>br>A workaround is to bend the bottom tab of the mounting bracket up slightly (1/8-inch bend). 1/4") (do this before putting it up on the wall, or the wall will ding up). When I did this, the set screw went in even deeper and was no longer visible.
The thing looks nice, and the anchors and screws are adequate and functional. Towels without a loop may be a little slick, but if you bundle them up tightly enough, they won't slip. br>br>The mounting bracket can be a very tight fit, to the point where it may not sit flush with the wall, which not only gives the impression that it isn't a secure fit, but also prevents the itty bitty screw on the bottom that secures the hook to the bracket from not threading all the way and poking out just a tid. You won't notice the hook because it will most likely be placed below eye level. br>br>By the way, that tiny screw on the bottom that holds the hook to the bracket is deceivingly small; I'd go with a size that's a tad smaller than the recommended 1/8". br>br>It's a good hook to put up to get something to hold your towels, but you might find that you want something else soon after.
It was well worth the money. I needed a low-cost replacement for our bathroom door's ineffective towel hook. We rent, and our lease stipulates that no holes should be made anywhere. The fact that it needed to be replaced with a simple bracket that only took one screw added to the annoyance. Finding a bracket that didn't sue 2 was surprisingly difficult. I was relieved to find this one after 3 screws! If you want, you can use one or two screws in this bracket, but we found that the second screw isn't necessary to keep our two towels in place. It was very simple to put together, and the instructions were easy to understand. Now, if only my landlord hadn't stripped the screws out of the old hook bracket, resulting in an hour-long repair job. long battle with a vice grip to prepare the area for this lovely new hook!.
With the provided hardware, instructions, and a few basic tools, it's simple to put together - hammer, drill with 1/4" bit, and two screwdrivers - one 2 philips screwdriver for the anchors, and a small flat screwdriver for tightening the hook to the bracket br>br>My only gripe is the enormous box in which the hook arrived - It is approximately 3-inches tall. it must be multiplied by a factor of ten The packaging on AmazonBasics products is usually much more efficient.
I was concerned about the scale - Due to a wall, I couldn't stick out too far, but I was concerned that being too shallow would result in the towel falling off. There's no need to be concerned; these are fantastic! br>br>I used Toggler TA's, which are hollow core door anchors. They're available right now on Amazon and are fantastic.
I am completely satisfied. Because the original fixture tightening screw was too short, the fixture could not be firmly fixed to the bracket and was loose (the screw was long enough to keep the fixture from falling off the bracket, but not long enough to properly tighten the fixture). However, Amazon/supplier quickly sent me a replacement at no cost to me and, more importantly, without asking me to return the original. The new fixture came with a longer tightening screw that was properly tightened. The fixture is attractive, functional, and reasonably priced, as is customary for Amazon Basics. Currently, I am 100% satisfied with the product. Because the original was defective, I deducted one star.
