I can't say enough good things about this towel ring, just like I can't say enough good things about the matching towel bar, which I also reviewed. It has a much nicer finish and overall build quality than the many cheap towel rings I've installed in the past. It looks fantastic and will be a welcome addition to one of our beach house's bathrooms. This book comes highly recommended.
This Moen towel ring is attractive, durable, and coordinates with the Kingsley collection. It protrudes more than my previous ring, and it appears to be a little too far out in one of my bathrooms. However, being far away from the wall is advantageous because it allows the hand towel to dry rather than resting damp against the wall.
On two separate parts of the first towel ring I received, the finish was defective. The first flaw was found near the front of the part that protrudes from the wall. The finish had a lot of visible black lines and dots. They would not rub off because they were embedded in the finish. The ring had a second flaw. On the bottom of the circle, there was a large scratched area (approximately 3 inches in length). The scratches, however, did not appear to be brand new because they were dull. They were plated in brushed nickel. As a result, they had to be present in the metal prior to polishing. I couldn't understand why a customer received a "seconds" towel ring. Because it was packaged in a MOEN box, it had to have been released in this condition from their factory. The supplier, however, is sending me a new one thanks to Amazon's excellent return policy. It will be interesting to see if there are any flaws. If it's a good one, I'll give it a four-star rating.
It is installed in the same way as the towel and grab bars. As a result, once you've installed one, the rest will be a breeze. It looks great and should last a long time, based on the other fixtures I've installed.
I like Moen products, but the two towel rings I bought are defective; after anchoring the mounting brackets to the wall and then fastening the rings to the bracket, I noticed right away that the rings were not properly aligned with the mount. The rings are about 10 degrees crooked. The ring can be wiggled to straighten it, but it simply returns to its original position. To demonstrate the issue, I've uploaded a picture to the product. I haven't seen any other reviews that mention this issue, so it's possible that the issue is limited to just a few of the oil rubbed bronze-finished items. I couldn't stand having hardware that wasn't square and plumb, so I sent the towel rings back to Amazon.
Overall, they're quite appealing, and they appear to be much more substantial. It came with a sheet to help with mounting, but it was still a little difficult to line up and screw in enough to get and stay flush against the wall on your own (these are heavier and pull away from the wall). Overall, I'd buy it again, but be careful with the setup.
I purchased the entire set, which included a robe hook, hand towel, small towel bar, and toilet paper holder. All of them have made me very happy.
The rest of the Kingsley line is in my bathroom, and it looks fantastic.
