Questions & Answers

What is the procedure for ordering additional on-off clips?

They're available on Amazon or by contacting Intermatic directly. The clips are typical of the company.

Is the motor included in this? I already own a t104p3 and don't require the enlosure. Intermatic has been giving me the runaround on the phone?

Yes, the motor is included. It's a good thing you have your own vehicle because theirs is worthless. I bought one, but it's now just for show because it doesn't keep time.

Is it possible to get it without the plastic shell?

If that's the case, you'll only need the T104M mechanism.

I have a 30-year-old model with a burned-out motor and a dreadful metal enclosure. Is this enclosure watertighter than the previous ones?

Probably. The current models have an inner lip that fits inside the door and provides a sufficient seal. BTW, thank you for your 30 years of service.

This is a perfect match
5/5

This was purchased to replace a similar-model timer that had failed. The old one was used as a pool pump controller all of the time and lasted almost 14 years before failing. I considered simply replacing the timer clock, but my old case had developed a minor crack. Given that it had spent its entire life in the scorching heat of South Florida, I wasn't surprised or upset. Because a new clock and case would cost about the same as this one, I decided to replace it all in case any of the contacts were burned inside. br>br>I turned off the power and had it replaced in 15 minutes. Everything about the new one was identical to the old one, down to the holes in the case and every electrical connection. Because of this, replacing it was extremely quick and simple, and time is money. This purchase has made me very happy.

The result is intriguing, and the problem has been solved in an intriguing manner
5/5

When I turned on the pump manually with the switch in the intermatic box, it shorted out (the impeller went bad and leaked), causing a huge flash inside the intermatic control box. The pump needed to be replaced, but due to the power surge, the intermatic control was stuck in the always-on mode. I simply turned on and off the pump by using the breaker in the breaker box. Then there was nothing for a while. As a result, I placed an order for this exact replacement and completed the installation myself. It's simple to do; just make sure you turn off the power and check for live wires with a voltmeter. When I tried to start the pump, it would not turn on. I double-checked each connection and found that they all had 110 volts. I spent two days debating this, connecting and reconnecting, but nothing came of it. I used the first four connections on the internal control module, not the fifth, and they all showed 110 volts. Even the timer dial was not working, which led me to believe the new one was faulty. Finally, I went to my neighborhood pool supply store and spoke with the employees. I brought the old timer with me and demonstrated how I connected the wires and what voltage I was seeing. Despite the fact that I was still seeing voltage, they said my breaker had become weak or had failed. I should see 110 volts on the first and third screw connectors, and 220 volts on the second and fourth screw connectors, according to them. I thought they were nuts, but they were right; I bought a new breaker, swapped it out, and everything started working perfectly again. I hope someone will find this information useful.

a timer for the pump Replacement is simple
3/5

I believe that spending more for good value and quality is the way to go. I purchased this timer about 20 years ago, at the same time as my first. I'm not sure when it happened, but it was a long time ago, and I've never had any issues with the original. The clock motor finally died, and I purchased the same part number. Simple to swap out. I hung my old box on the wall and replaced it with this new insert. It was a perfect match. The wiring must be changed, but this is a simple task. Customer is pleased. Given how long the last one lasted, it's not cheap, but it's a good deal. It's possible that the container will withstand the elements. I can't talk about mine because it's in a locked room. 2019-2019-2019-2019-2019-2019-2019-2019-2019-2019-2019-2019-2019-2019-2019 17 In terms of longevity, it's not so good. 3 months. It hasn't worked in a long time. I didn't have the opportunity to double-check my suspicions. The timer has stopped working. Maybe there's a market for rejected items? The first one, which I purchased from a local big box store, lasted for 25 years. This one lasted a year and a half. Explain? I'm going to give it another shot, hoping and praying for a good result. This does not appear to be the case. 2019-2019-2019-2019-2019-2019-2019-2019-2019-2019-2019-2019-2019-2019-2019 19 The new one died in a short period of time. I received my new timer two days later, thanks to the seller's prompt response. Thank you very much.

It's a good replacement for an older model of the same device
4/5

I was struck by how similar these decades-old photos were. It replaced an older model. The only discernible difference was the new unit's plastic housing versus my old unit's metal. It needed to be replaced because of this. The unit was finally knocked out by the weather because the housing had rusted out so badly. What makes you think this is interesting? So few companies stick to a tried-and-true design. They are constantly releasing new models with new designs, which are frequently inferior to previous high-quality models; simply to persuade people to purchase a replacement for an older model that is still in good working order - in a wide range of products This unit, however, is an exception. The old unit lasted decades, so I'm optimistic that this one will as well - Because of the weatherproof housing, it might last a little longer. br>br>It is not "easy to install," but that is due to the complicated wiring involved with a 210-volt system, not the product itself. The pump must also be connected to the pool heater in a 220V pool system. It's just the "nature of the beast. " It has clear instructions, but as a backup, I recommend photographing the inside wiring on the old unit you're replacing. There is no room for error on any 210-volt system, so double-check your wiring. 220V power supply; That's why, if you're not experienced with electrical work, they recommend hiring a professional. Also, do not risk electrocution due to the high voltage: at the breaker box, turn off the circuit; A circuit tester should be used to double-check the pump timer. If it's raining, don't do your work; I prefer to do my work while standing on a rubber mat or pad (which acts as an insulator) rather than sitting. nothing but the earth. The pad also adds comfort because this is a fairly long task and you'll be standing for a while. br>br>On the downside, I believe this mechanical unit is overpriced because a digital unit isn't that much more expensive; I chose the mechanical unit for reliability, but I expected a larger price break for an older design.

Old- Construction of a School The unit is well-made and packaged for outdoor use
4/5

The manual on/off switch is substantial and distinguishes the two modes. My only criticism is that there were no instructions included, aside from a small electrical schematic sticker. I'm not an electrician, so I enlisted the help of a neighbor (who happens to be an electrical engineer). Electric repairs are something I'm familiar with, but they typically come with more detailed instructions. So far - so good. It's easy to use and keeps track of the timer. If properly stored and protected from the elements, I believe it will last for ten years. It has an "antique" feel to it. It has a "back to school" feel and look to it, as if it were designed in the 1970s and still works today. For the lack of instructions to go with the sticker schematic, I gave it a four-star rating. Aside from that, it's well worth the money I'll save on pool energy bills.
