Questions & Answers

Is it a "line of sight" or a frequency that the remote uses?

The remote is controlled by a frequency. Mine is connected to outdoor lighting that I can control from anywhere in the house.

Is there a need for batteries in the remote? What size battery does it have if it does?

Mine is powered by a 12 volt A23G battery.

Is it possible to turn off the light sensor while still using our timers 2 4 6 and 8?

If you have a cover sensor, it will turn on and stay on for 2, 4, 6, or 8 hours.

Has anyone else had issues with the timer not working? Plugs can only be inserted halfway. My husband tried as well, but to no avail. ?

Does it make sense that you tried to plug something else into the female side of the plug? These plugs are all machine-made to exact specifications; one leg is wider than the other, and the female plug is the same.br>I have had no problems with the system.

Not for use in the open air
3/5

Because of this, I gave it a rating of two. I placed an order, received the item, and it worked for a week before failing. The item has been replaced by the seller. The second worked for a week before quitting for the same reason as the first. It stopped raining or snowing every time it rained or snowed. The fact that it said "outdoor" drew me to purchase it. It did not, however, work for me when I was outside. The majority of my use was for Christmas lights. It was ideal until the addition of outdoor elements.

On/off switch for the remote
3/5

It's possible that the photosensor and timer won't work. I needed a dawn/dusk timer to turn a light on at dusk and off at dawn, so I purchased this. When I received the item, it turned on at dusk but never went off. The photosensor was not working properly. I've used photosensor timers before, and the photosensor on this one appeared to be a little cheap in comparison to the ones I'd used previously, so I wasn't surprised. br> I attempted to resolve the issue via Amazon Chat. It was a complete disaster and a complete waste of time. After that, I chose to make a voice call. The person who assisted me was extremely pleasant and attempted to resolve the issue by calling the manufacturer, but the manufacturer did not return my call. br> HOWEVER, IN THIS CASE THERE IS A " HOWEVER" IN THAT THE REMOTE ON- The off function is very useful. As a result, for $15. 00 is a good price for a basic on-the-go remote. turn off the switch I wouldn't put my trust in the photosensor or timer functions. Purchase something else if you require the latter.

Mine is in good working order
5/5

This turns out to be more effective than I had anticipated. I have it outside, under the shade of our gazebo, which we constructed earlier this summer. It does not get wet from rain, but it does get hot from being so close to the gazebo's metal roof. So far, we haven't had any problems with it. It's currently in charge of the gazebo's led lights, which are strung around the upper beam. It's plugged into a medium-duty extension cord that runs from a covered outdoor socket on the house's back wall. The timer functions properly, the sensor functions properly, and the manual functions properly. That is all there is to it. Yes, this is a genuine review. I only write reviews after I've used something for a few months.

You are very versatile and do not go over the ra
5/5

To prevent the hummingbird feeder from freezing, we are using our porch lights and the 7 watt light. The majority of the time, we used the sensor, but when the temperature dropped below freezing during the day, we switched to the power on all the time mode. The feeder did not freeze during the day as a result of this. We'll probably set the timer to 4 or 6 hours this summer, even though the sensor is under our awning and out of the weather. It hasn't missed a beat so far. Great unit, but I'd advise people to double-check the wattage of whatever they're connecting to the sensor to make sure they're not exceeding the sensor's wattage rating. After the summer, we'll see how it goes.

It performs admirably
5/5

We've been using it for about two months now. The device is extremely effective. We use it to light up our patio and playset with a couple of strands of string lighting. The sensor function hasn't given us any problems and it works perfectly. Overall, we're extremely pleased. We have it screwed into our wall, with a protector over the outlets and a piece of HVAC puddy to cover the opening. Our house's outlets were all installed backwards for some reason.

Keep it as dry as possible
5/5

This year, I used it to hang Christmas lights, and it worked perfectly! The remote control is easy to use and has a long range. The installation is the only thing I have to criticize. For starters, the cord is extremely short; however, if you plug it directly into a wall socket, you should be fine; additionally, I discovered that mounting it to the wall using the single mounting point causes the outlets to point directly up into the weather. Again, I believe it was intended to be plugged into a wall outlet, but I needed it outside in order for the photocell to function.

The remote control was a little excessive in my opinion
5/5

Until I plugged the timer into my outlet behind some bushes near the ground on my foundation wall, I thought the remote feature was a little excessive and unnecessary. Then it began to rain. How convenient it is to be able to control my Christmas lights from inside a window using a simple button layout! There are seven distinct buttons on this device: on, off, dusk to dawn, on for 2 hours, 4 hours, 6 hours, and 8 hours, on for 2 hours, 4 hours, 6 hours, and 8 hours. Is there anything more straightforward? It appears to be well-made and durable. It appears to be effective at repelling rain. I don't write reviews very often, but this is a clever trick!.

With a remote control, you can set an outdoor timer
5/5

We use an outdoor light to illuminate a large tree in our yard, and we have to adjust the timer as the days get longer or shorter so it doesn't stay on or go off too early. Unless you remembered to set it during the day, this usually meant going outside with a flashlight in the dark to make adjustments. br>br>Now you can do everything from the comfort of your own home. Make any necessary adjustments using the remote control. I didn't expect it to work so well. We use the remote from upstairs, where it is plugged in, and it works perfectly.
