Questions & Answers

Do you have the blade 66 that cuts and punches down with this tool?

There is no doubt that it cuts and punches

Can you tell me if this tool is made in the United States?

As stated on the label of the Ideal Punchmaster II The manufacturer states that it is an American product. I am a U.S. citizen. The Global Component as well"

There are no descriptions of this tool, but the picture looks like it has the hi low dial but the description says it does not ?

Thanks for getting in touch I am pretty sure it has a Hi and Low setting, and I am fairly certain it The rubber top is very comfortable when you are punching since the impact feature prevents you from squeezing it too hard. BTW you are unlikely to make a good connection on the 110 post without the impact feature. It is recommended.

When you arrive at the scissors, how will you get them?

My apologies, I'm not quite sure what you're asking. These are not scissors, nor is there any scissors in the package

I have a hard time finding IT tools that are made in the United States. Here is one I'm glad to possess. For the keystone jacks, I used screw clamps. Many of the jacks you buy from home depot will come with cheap plastic punchdown tools, as well as instructions on how to cut the It looks like garbage, and it's not the way to go about it. Wires need to be seated and excess wires need to be cut in one step using a punchdown tool. If it is not the tool or my technique, the cat6 wires I was using, or the keystones I recently bought from monoprice - not sure if it is the tool, the wires I was using, or the new keystones - I deducted one star for the fact that one punch sometimes was not enough to cut the wires. That seems like it would be very annoying for a professional. I didn't try that since the instructions said only to adjust the pressure to HI for 66 connections, but I'm sure it could've been helpful. On LO, I completed all of my connections.

The fact that they are made in the USA is appealing to me

The best tool on the market today. Made in the Designed to last for a long time, not to be thrown away. The Ideal brand of tools have been part of my toolkit for many years and I continue to purchase them. What's the reason? Features a rubber top for comfort (unlike some others) and a click-action mechanism to ensure that the blade stays sharp when used. Do everything you can to avoid the annoying, cheap junk that makes you hate your Make sure you purchase a quality tool such as this one that you will enjoy using every day.

As expected, this is an excellent tool

The best punch tool you can find. Since I have been using Ideal punch down tools for many moons, they have always provided smooth, solid punch action that makes termination of cat 5e and cat 6 cabling a breeze. I would like to see a 66 blade set added to this. However, it will cover most of the punch down applications I handle.

Save money by staying away from cheaper options
5/5

There is no doubt that this punch tool is excellent. I worked as a teletechnologist for several years for an academic institution. I saw a wide range of punch tools at the university, and not all of them were the same. Punches of poor quality are nearly impossible to use compared with ones of better quality. The Ideal punches are at the lower end of high quality punches, and perform just as well as any Purchase this item at a price that is not less.

For the price, it is a good product

Those of you looking for a punch down tool are sure to find the Ideal Punchmaster II to be an excellent choice. CAT 6 keystone jacks work well with this tool when it is set to low impact. With this tool I have terminated roughly 200 unshielded twisted pairs and so far I am not unhappy with the results.

This is a great deal
5/5

There is no better deal than this. Ideal Punchmaster II genuine product. It comes with only one 110 blade, which is commonly used on CAT5 and CAT6 networking cables. Make sure you also get a 66 blade if you are doing telco work. Seeing as I work in data and IP security, this is a great deal for me. For the price, you don't really need the 66 blade, so it's a great.
