Questions & Answers

The following two questions need to be answered Do both sides of the plate have etchings? The thickness of the layers is 2) how thick is it? It was a pleasure working with ?

We have a 1" thick housing, so we are sorry for any misunderstanding, but what do you mean by etched

How much space does this tool allow you to go through the attic to run surveillance camera cables?

That's what I thought, but how would it be done?

How well does it work with 1/2" pipes, or with wires at the edges or corners?

The longest run I did was 90 feet on PVC gray pipe. I pulled 3 wires in half pipe and looped them through the pipe so that when I got to a corner, I would add an elbow and pull the wires through the next section of pipe.

What is the magnetic property of this fish tape? In order to find the fishtape in the wall, I want to be able to use a stick magnet. ?

My name is YES, the tape has a magnet on one end. Arcade Electronics *BR= pj/Arcade

The trick is to make it work right with a little trick
4/5

There will always be a trick to making it work correctly, regardless of the $20 tool. It is important to put tension on the wire as you reel it up when spooling it up. The black handle must be held while you turn the orange plastic in accordance with the instructions on the sticker. When you wind the wire, make sure to maintain tension so that it does not press against the outside. If you squeeze the wire and outer housing with your palm while winding, you can keep tension with your thumb through the black hole and your palm against the wire. As long as you know the trick of how to make it work, it's a great product especially considering the price. It might be easier to do using a glove, but I did it with my hands without any issues.

Taking a little bit of patience is required
4/5

Fish Tape is a bit tricky to work with since you have to wind it back up again after each use. The following tips will help you This is *1. Keep the orange handle on the tape and never pull it away. When pulling the tape, always pull it from the center. 3.
It may be difficult to wind the tape up, so pull it out of the wall, conduit, etc. Then rewind it by holding the orange and gently push it into the wall again. 1. *3. You can rewind the tape with the above procedure if it gets stuck. Pull it out until it is easily moved back and forth and then rewind.

You might be able to get a couple of pulls out of it before it breaks
3/5

Only used it a few times the curve makes the tape only suitable in specific situations. It is better to use straight fiberglass rod instead. There were some spots that were tough to fish, but I managed to get a line in. As with all feed and retract mechanisms, the machine became harder to feed and harder to retract with every use. I never got near using the entire 50 feet, but we did it fewer than a dozen times with 10-foot sections. The tops are 15' high and I can't retract it anymore. It'll probably never feed out again, if I could make it do it. It might be possible to dismantle it, realign things, or shorten it up so I don't have to deal with as much A second chance may be given to it. You can use this fish tape for more than one project, but if you want an easy to use fish tape you can use it for more than one thing, this isn't the tape for you.

The best way to run speaker wire and electrical wire! Much better than a fishing The wires for some speakers are running through existing walls of my house for a project I am doing
5/5

In order to provide surround sound, I'm using four overhead speakers and six surround speakers. Getting the walls to come down has been particularly challenging because of the insulation. I have been loving this fish tape a lot! The vehicle has enough rigidity to keep it moving through difficult areas while remaining straight, but flexibility to get around difficult corners. Besides the tape, I bought a fish rod to run wires, but I have found that the fishing rod is just not that good for this task. It wasn't easy to use the rod so eventually I just switched to So far, I've run a number of cables with this device without a hitch. A few people claim to have problems with it getting jammed up during the retracting or releasing process. Though I have experienced times when it felt a little tight, I just followed the directions and it didn't bother me. Multiple times I have had it fully unwound and rewound without getting any errors.

You might not be able to retract fish tape back into the In order to run speaker wire throughout my house, I purchased this tool
3/5

This was my first time buying a 50', so I decided to go for it. It would seem logical that 50' would be twice as good as 25', wouldn't it? As a result, there was so much fish tape stuck in the tool that once I pulled out 20 feet of it, I was unable to get it back in. The wire got kinked or bent somehow, so it wouldn't move. After using it for a few days, I decided to throw it away since I wasn't planning on storing the tool with 20 layers of tape hanging out. I think this would have been a much better use of time.

Fishing wire is great when compact, but be careful not to get it wet
4/5

Hey there, this is a seasoned reviewer. Buying products off Amazon and online is a habit I've developed over the years and I always do my research before purchasing. Considering that I am a contractor electrician, I needed a fishing wire to use on a residential property. The reason I wanted something small was because I already have to carry several bags of tools and I wanted a metal wire so I could bend it into useful angles (ask any electrician for an explanation). After using this product for several years, I found it to meet my needs. It has rusted over now and is rather difficult to remove, however once it has been removed it still works. I gave it 4 stars because it will rust over if it is uncoiled and will be difficult to remove. This product is great if you can keep it dry. I definitely prefer to buy it again if you can keep it dry.

It's still a good idea to wear leather gloves when handling this
4/5

A fishing net that connected two CAT5 lines through an HMI support arm (about a 20-foot route) worked well in an industrial environment. While it seems a bit awkward at first, it becomes much easier once you get the hang of it. With this particular reel, you can hold the center ring and use the handle to outfeed the cable into your conduits (you don't have to push the steel yourself, because the center ring is designed to allow you to do so). Though the tape itself was well lubricated and had broken edges, I would still highly recommend wearing leather gloves when handling it (for no other reason than to keep grease off of I was happily surprised by how compact the unit was, and was so glad to be able to store it at the bottom of my lista at all times.

A combination of Strength, Flexibility, and Impairment Thanks for understanding
5/5

There is no better tool than this one. I was able to run thick ethernet cable through six feet of plastic pipe with two 90 degree turns without a single problem. The instructions on how to rewind the tape will keep you from cursing it like some of the other reviewers have done Taking the obvious route backward is not the right thing to do.
