I needed to run a network cable from the outside of my house down into my network panel via the attic. The rods are thinner and more 'bendy' than I had anticipated, but they did the job. I was able to push the wire up into the attic with a couple of rods and one of the attachments, then grab hold of the wire with several more rods and pull it through with the hook attachment. However, considering the cost, it's not bad.
I bought this because I have a nested fiberglass wire puller packed somewhere (I haven't found it yet in all the unpacking from my cross-state move). I was dissatisfied that it couldn't 'push' a wire attached to the end. The pole bends back and forth between the ceiling joists until it jambs up to the point where you can't push any further than 12 feet.
These can be customized to your liking. This is sometimes all you need for wire pulling, but other times you need something sturdier and more rigid that will go where you point it (swan lake green rods). I believe either kit could complete the task on its own, but I found it to be more convenient to use both. The attachments are extremely important. If you twist them too much, they will unscrew, but this is simple to avoid. None of them have been broken.
This product is excellent for its intended purpose. a decent set of pulleys I tried pushing a thicker wire once, but it didn't work out. If this is your only set of rods, keep in mind that you won't be able to easily push through extremely tough insulation or long runs of insulation. These were exactly what I needed because that wasn't an issue for me. br>These are, in my opinion, quite difficult. They held up perfectly until I drilled into one like a dope, which I didn't do with kid gloves.
The first time I used it, it broke! When I pulled on the connector part, it came off very easily! It's a complete waste of my time!.
The attachments are unquestionably a welcome addition!.
They did an excellent job on this project. Without them, I would not have been able to complete this task. Instead of using wifi, I'm considering using cat6 to connect to the internet. This will get R done if you need to run wires or cables.
So far, I've had a lot of fun with them. They were bought to replace a pair that had mysteriously vanished. They do exactly what I need them to do, and they do it without a hitch.
