Questions & Answers

Is the waistband on these pants adjustable?

The inside of the waistband does have a Velcro adjustment.

Is the fit of your ski pants loose? In my thighs, I need more space. ?

I don't believe that is the case. There is no longer any elastic in the pants. It's a tight situation.

Is there a size chart somewhere, or am I missing it?

I'd go to Columbia's official website and look at their chart.

My height and weight are 5'2" and 120 pounds, respectively. Is it possible for me to have a medium short? I usually go for small/short, but I see that isn't an option here. Please accept my sincere gratitude! ?

My height and weight are 5'2" and 130 pounds, respectively. Because I wear a base layer underneath, the medium short fits perfectly.

In Antarctica, it kept me warm and dry, even when the waves reached my hips
5/5

These were purchased in preparation for a 22-day trip to Antarctica. Offloading from a zodiac into crashing surf up to my hips was a common occurrence. The temperature was frequently in the teens, with winds gusting to thirty miles per hour. I never got wet or cold in my life. I was only wearing a pair of smart wool long underwear underneath. Many pockets with zippers. They also came out looking great after they were washed. These are the ones to get if you're looking for something waterproof, windproof, and warm.

Once you've put them on, they're a good fit
4/5

My height and weight are 5'2" and 135 pounds, respectively. with a narrower waist and broader hips In jeans, I usually wear a size 8. I like Columbia clothing, but the sizing is inconsistent. I tried on the Saturday trail pants in sizes 8 and 10, and they were both too small. So I assumed I'd be a size large in Bugaboo pants - nope. I was swallowed whole by the large. So I ordered a medium, which fits much better, though getting them over my hips is still a bit of a struggle. The waist is a good fit; they're a little tight across the hips and thighs, but I'm keeping them because they look good and are reasonably comfortable. Fortunately, they are insulated, so I don't need to layer much underneath them. I'm content with myself.

The difference between a medium and a large
5/5

First, I'll go over my numbers. 5'6" tall, 140 pounds, 30" waist, 41" hips I have a fairly flat stomach and carry my weight in my hips. I initially placed an order for a medium size. Most of my pants are a size 8. I wear a size 10 in other Columbia pants and find them to be very comfortable. The M was a little difficult for me to get over my hips. The waist was in good shape. They were very tight in the hips and upper thighs. I wasn't sure if I'd be able to ski because of my lack of mobility. I took a chance and they turned out to be even better than I had hoped. Skiing was a breeze for me. Underneath, I wore a pair of slim leggings. There wouldn't be much room for anything else. I was extremely hot the entire time. br>br>I ordered a large to compare after this trip. The large provided significantly more space in the hip and thigh areas. The waist, on the other hand, was absurdly large. I couldn't get the waist to fit even with the Velcro tabs. The fabric bunched up a lot on both sides when they were fully fastened, making them look ridiculous. So, with all of that said, I've decided to stick with the medium. Also, perhaps try to shed a few pounds!.

Warm and inviting
3/5

I was unsure about these pants at first; I purchased a medium and they fit perfectly in the waist but were extremely tight in the seat and thighs (I am 5'4" and 140 pounds). I decided to keep them because we were going skiing soon. br>On the mountain, the weather was clear with temperatures in the low 30s. Underneath, I had on cotton leggings. I didn't feel uneasy in the least- either in terms of fit or in terms of warmth. br>I'm not sure about the water resistance because the weather was so nice, but sitting on the chairlift kept my butts warm and dry. br>I'm pleased with these pants in general. I'm not a fan of the snug fit giving way to a looser fit and puffiness in the calf area, but it's possible that the designers were trying to accommodate different sized ski boots. br>They kept me warm and dry, and they were actually quite pleasant to wear.

It seemed like it would be a great pant, and Columbia's fit is usually my favorite
3/5

I'm 5'6" and weigh 196 pounds, so I went with the xlarge regular size. They're comfortable in the waist and thighs, but the flare at the bottom is ridiculous. These are the bell bottom snow pants, if there is such a thing. I understand a small flare to go over boots, but the flare is much larger than my thigh, making the pants look ridiculous on me. I was disappointed because I anticipated them being extremely warm in the snow, but I will have to return and look for something else before my trip.

In Michigan, it stands up to winter activities
5/5

In the Michigan winter, I bought these for outdoor winter activities. I finally got to try these out this past weekend while snowboarding and was very impressed. I was a little concerned when I put on my base layers (underarmour thermals and a pair of sweatpants) because they were a little tight to pull up, but even after falling for the billionth time on the slopes, I had no problems with mobility or discomfort. For a full day of outdoor wear, they remained warm, dry, and in place. I'm 5ft 5in and 115lbs, and the XS was a perfect fit for me. I could wear them with a few layers or just my jeans and a thin base layer underneath because of the adjustable waist. I'm also a big fan of the hue - Because it isn't a particularly bright purple, it can be paired with a wide range of other hues. My sister's pair is included in the photo as well. She has the same pair, but they are black - She's gotten a lot more wear out of them, and she adores them!.

On a 185 pound lady, the 12/14 size is a little tight
3/5

I'm somewhere in the middle of a size range. I'm 185 pounds and these are a little tight around the waist, so I went with the 12-inch length. Because I believe the size up would have been far too large for me, I went with 14. I'm warm and dry in these, and they wouldn't have fit if I hadn't worn thin leggings underneath. It's been a long time since I've worn snow pants. I would have preferred a fitting room to try on in store, but these will suffice. I read a lot of reviews and a lot of them mentioned height; however, I believe weight is just as important to size things online in reviews, and I wish more women had stated their weight. With my boots on and my height of 5'1", the length was perfect.

I'm normally a size 6 with a height of 5'3" and a weight of 130 pounds, so it's a good value for the money
5/5

Short length is difficult to come by. I went with a medium short so I could wear a base layer underneath. The length is ideal, and the waistband is a tad tight but functional. I got these at a discounted price of 50% off. They're a good value for the money.
