Is it possible to put this behind an outboard motor and float it? The prop should not get tangled in it. ?

This is not the case. The connecting end of my tow rope is attached with a float, which keeps it on top of the water. There is still a need for caution.

It seems to be a good rope

The rope is about 12" thick and seems very sturdy. I have not used it yet, but it looks fine. Despite being well made, the clips are large enough to fit comfortably on cleats with tubing which has a diameter of 12". It is large enough in the hook that attaches to a tow rope for a doubled 12. 5-inch rope to pass through without a problem.
