As a result of the shape of my kayak or canoe, there is no way to tighten the straps enough to be effective for anything other than flat, smooth terrain.
Despite my largest kayaks, the cart is very sturdy and can hold them easily. My next step will probably be to replace them with an easier-to-use alternative.
I couldn't be happier with how it works! I love how easy it is to pull this on and off. I also like how sturdy it is. My kayak is too heavy for me to carry alone, so I am glad that I was able to get this so I didn't have to bother my husband every time I wanted to take it out.
The cart was a gift for my son, and he is delighted The user said it was easy to use and he could get things done quickly & easily Wheels can be easily taken off & reassembled Then he will tie it to his kayak, keeping it safe, and then he will unload, re-pack, and do it all over again His kayak is set up and he hauls it back to his There are rocks, gravel, and other debris to cross on the way to the river The sand is interspersed with brushy areas. During the trip, it didn't encounter any problems. It would be nice to have a 2nd cart to carry the granddaughter's.
Since I am able to figure it out, I am happy.
Other than that, it was great and very easy for me to get to the beach with my paddle board five blocks away.
Simple and easy to use.
