Questions & Answers
It should work with any BC because it sits beneath your BC and functions independently. You can even free dive with it.
Because it's worn beneath the BCD, it should fit most standard-fitting ones. I'm not sure what's wrong with it. Maybe the bcd velcro was set too low? If you can wear a weight belt, you should be able to wear this.
Any bcd can be used with it. It will go underneath your bcd, and you will ride it low so that it rides more across your lower back or bottom. below the location of your bcd clips
It does not come with a weight. It can hold up to 40 lbs in weight bags made of hard lead or soft shot.

The weight belt has a good design and is well constructed. Prior to my dive trip to the NC wrecks, I was able to dive it with my drysuit and integrated BC a few times. I was able to play around with weight distribution in the harness and BC to fine-tune my diving and surface trim. br>br>I like how the weight belt has a harness component that keeps it from slipping, especially when diving. When you pull the release handles, the pockets fall out of the harness. The handles stay connected to the pockets, allowing you to hand the weights off to someone else if you're not using them. it's a crisis For instance, I've been on a few small "6 Pack" dive boats that actually take your BC because they don't have a ladder to board. Before doffing the BC, a diver must hand over the harness weights. br>br>After pulling the release handles, reattaching the weight pockets is a quick and painless process. It's simple to do and takes only a few minutes. br>br>Don't forget to explain how to use the harness and release handles to your dive buddy. Unbuckling the harness, unlike a traditional weight belt, will not cause your weights to fall out in an emergency. br>br>This leads me to the reason for the 4/5 rating rather than the 5/5 rating. In the event of an emergency, the release handles must be visible. They're black, just like most divers' equipment. I'll most likely cover the handles with yellow waterproof tape.
For drysuit diving, this is an excellent weight system. Because I don't have hips, a regular weight belt isn't going to work for me. The only drawback is that if you use the weight release system, you will have to spend the next ten minutes doing nothing. The release system was rethreaded for 15 minutes. Aside from that, everything is fine. I just wish it had a more user-friendly quick release.
This harness is of good quality, and DUI gear has a good reputation. I bought this for my son to add weight to his drysuit for our Pacific Northwest drysuit diving. A weight belt would have slipped off his non-existent hips, so this is the ideal solution. Walking back out of the water and climbing back to the car is also made easier with the weight on the shoulders. Even though it's still a lot of weight, spreading it out helps. br>br>We sat down and devised a method for dumping the weight and, if necessary, restringing it. We hope we never have to dump, but it's good to be prepared in case we do. br>br>I deducted a star for the price, as I don't see why this should be so expensive. To put this together, you'll most likely spend less than $25 on materials and labor.
This is a great product that has been around a long time and makes dry-cleaning easier. It makes scuba diving a lot more pleasant. br>br>By utilizing a standard weight-lifting technique, When you wear a belt, you must carry all of your weight on your hips, and when you use a weight-bearing device, you must carry all of your weight on your shoulders. If you don't use integrated systems, you'll have to lug a colossal BC around with you. This harness is very comfortable and fits well under all of the BCs I've used (and seen others use). Accidental releases are extremely unlikely, even during work dives, because the release mechanism works. br>br>The manufacturing quality is excellent, with a dependable, precision-made product. Stainless steel buckle with a matte finish and a cross-over design. stitching and high-quality materials Webbing made of high-quality nylon br>br>I only use this product for dives that require more than 25 pounds of weight, so it's probably overkill for most wetsuit dives (in those situations, I use integrated weights when diving and a traditional weight belt when freediving). In cold water, however, my weight with layered undergarments can reach 44 pounds, which is easily split into 40 pounds in the harness and two 2 pound ankle weights for a comfortable dive.
This allows me to trim out much easier and maintain a horizontal posture much easier. Great product. Excellent Harness and built to last. This harness is capable of supporting a significant amount of weight.
This is what I used to replace my integrated system. I now dive in a dry suit, and this system is the best; I've never had any problems with it, and it's well-made. I'd suggest it.
DUI has come out with yet another fantastic product. Made in the United States of America. You will not be let down.
