Selected User Reviews For EvoShield PRO-SRZ Protective Wrist Guard Series
Our catcher, who is 13, is 13 years old. For him, we ordered two of these. He has protective sides on the insides of his wrists and wears them on both arms. His belief in his ability to block balls has greatly increased. They have a significant impact on him. When he's at bat, he flips them over so the protective side is facing the pitcher. These are fantastic. br>br>On the down side, they STINK. Sweat collects in the crevices. After the first use, they had a peculiar odor. It's starting to smell pretty bad. BUT, because they work so well, it's well worth the investment. I washed them in the machine. Although it does not completely remove the odor, they have held up well.
Since the last series, the wrist guard has been updated, and to be honest, it works in some areas but not in others. It works because it's a little thinner and thus more breathable; the previous version gave me a rash due to the thick neoprene. It doesn't work because it appears to shift and move. So far, I've used it in three games and haven't had any issues with it moving, so it could all be in my head. The stitching isn't particularly good. The guard's pull tab is coming undone already. It's not a big deal, but you do want a good return on your investment. Because I play first base and use it to protect my wrist from bad hops, I haven't taken all direct hits to it (knock on wood), but it appears to provide excellent evoshield protection. Because the measurements are the same as the previous series, it should fit perfectly. However, I believe that because it is thinner, it appears to be larger than it is. It's possible that it's all in my head, as I stated earlier. I just hope it doesn't come crashing down around me. Only time will tell if this is true.
Because of the way he was made, I gave him two stars. The molding EvoShield products were great, but after the second use, the pulling part of this product tore. This product appears to have been stitched on the cheap. It could have been made a little better for the price. The smoothness and hard shell, on the other hand, make up for it. In terms of the pulling tab, its lack of durability makes it difficult to put on and take off.
This is designed to protect a batter's wrist while at bat, but we flipped it around and molded it for his under-arm protection. It's made a huge difference in his life.
As with anything new, you'll need to get used to it the first few times.
These are a big hit with my sons when they're playing video games. Extra arm protection for wild pitches or balls with a lot of hop. We've purchased a few over the years as they've worn out or needed to be replaced; we highly recommend them.
My husband promptly picked up the eco shield and returned it to me at the tournament as soon as it arrived. We shaped it to my son's specifications and put it to use the next day. Thank you, because he was hit, and I'll be buying more EvoShield products in the future.
