Chrome plating adds a high degree of durability to the steel. The chrome on the model might get scratched or exposed to salt spray in the future, but it will still take a few years before rust begins to form.
The diameter of the hub determines the amount of space. It is to be measured.
The description states it is chrome plated steel, so the plating will wear off and the steel will rust. I have found it relatively light weight, easy to install, looks good, and has not degraded but I have only had it on the bike for a little over The aluminum one should last quite a while if you keep it clean. If you are worried about rust, find one made from stainless steel.

It is a chrome plated steel spoke protector that is specific to freewheel hubs only. There is a standard 35mm opening for the freewheel hubs. In my opinion, the spoke protector is of good quality and fits perfectly. It was shipped by USPS from California and took a week to arrive. The spoke protector was packaged well in order to prevent damage during shipping. I should make a note to myself (68 mm hubs) This wheel will not fit cassette type hubs. Traditional bicycle hubs (35 mm) can be fitted with this rotor. Excellent spoke protector recommended for freewheel types of hubs!.
I like how shiny and bright the chrome is. I spray painted it blue to match my bike because I like it.
It looked fantastic - I was astonished at how amazing it was Chrome is a bright, shiny metal. This is fantastic! My heart would race if I was given the opportunity to do it again. Is it relevant to mention that this created an amazing look for the bike? Yeah, I did that. You can see the photos on the page.
I have to say that the product is excellently constructed and has a wonderful It's a great part for restoring or upgrading older bikes! Yes, I would buy one again.
Exactly what I was looking for. It does what it is supposed to do. That it is metal, rather than plastic, is great.
I'm very pleased with it. You won't have to worry about them breaking. I like the way it looks better.
The protector I had to buy was too small.
Here is the new plastic protector I replaced the old one with. It looks nice and is sturdy, there is no comparison.
