I believe there is a way to cut the extra cable so that it doesn't unravel, like mine did. Would it be possible to wrap the area with tape and then cut through it? It was impossible for me to put on the little end thingy, so I had to use electrical tape. It would be helpful if there were a brief instruction sheet for individuals who are not experienced in bike maintenance. In any case, it appears to be working well, so perhaps I can now sell it.
