Extremely durable, simple to assemble, and a great value. These are fantastic. If you're looking for something other than hats and motorcycle helmets, the black helmet is thick and heavy for its size, so it can withstand heavier replica helmets:.
WARNING: IF YOU ARE HANGING ANYTHING VALUEABLE, BE CAREFUL! br>br>The mounting hardware included in the package DOES NOT WORK. The screws are far too small for the anchors, and they can easily be removed. The outer shell and/or EPS liner of a motorcycle helmet are designed to withstand a single major impact; after that, the integrity of the outer shell and/or EPS liner, and thus your safety, is likely compromised. However, if one of these mounts fails, which they will, you may be forced to spend hundreds of dollars on a new helmet. The mounting holes on these mounts are not square with the vertical arm of the helmet holder, which is my second issue with them. If you drill four holes, one on top of the other, the helmet will hang slightly off-kilter. It's not as bothersome as my first complaint, but it's still annoying.
Helmet, number 51. Power armor upkeep is difficult enough, but storing your gear after a long day or night in the wasteland doesn't have to be! br>br>Perfectly holds the weight and allows you to proudly display your devotion to the Brotherhood of Steel from the bulkhead.
I bought these for my SW Black Series Helmets, and they work well and are great for display once they're properly secured. However, be aware that mounting these will require some additional effort. The mounting holes are not level or consistent between the four I ordered, indicating that quality control is non-existent. To ensure that the correct mounting pattern is drilled, square the top ring with a level and then mark each mounting hole individually. The mounting hardware, on the other hand, is completely ineffective and easily pulls away from the wall. I needed to get some drywall anchors (1/4" TripleGrip Cobra anchors) from a local big box DIY store that actually worked. If you want to mount these, do yourself a favor and get some good drywall anchors instead of the ones that came with them. Unless you enjoy drywall patching, that is.
There were a couple of flaws in this.
1. The screws that come with the bracket have countersink heads, but the bracket isn't designed to accommodate them.
2. The anchors are much too big for the screws that came with them.
3. This was the source of my greatest dissatisfaction. When the bracket was mounted with the helmet stem perfectly vertical, the four holes were out of level.
4. It would have been nice to have black screws that matched the bracket to hide them, but this is a minor point. Having said that, they're still quite nice, and there's a good chance I'll be buying more of them in the future.
The use of a ring to support the top of the helmet is something I like about the product. The ring has a shape that is similar to a head's crown. br>Four screw holes allow for a variety of mounting options. br>The product provides excellent support for the helmet while preserving the internal padding.
br>When my husband came home and saw a stand for his helmet, he was overjoyed. My husband, on the other hand, is a little rough on this stand because he uses it as an arm rest every now and then. I'm not sure what I'm saying. It hasn't bowed or lost its grip on the wall, though. It's been a week and a half since we last saw each other. br>That's a five-star rating!.
In the Arizona heat, it's great to have my Helmet with my jacket and right by the door so I can get it off as quickly as possible. The hanger is made of one solid piece of metal that is very strong. I'd make sure your jacket hanger is pushed as far back against the wall as possible, just to avoid putting any additional strain on the mount, which is already quite secure. The anchors and screws were also included with the hanger. I'll most likely buy a few of these to store my extra helmets and clear some shelf space.
