In total, I bought three helmets of this type. It is on two sets for twins, an 8 year old pair, and on the third set, a 12-year-old All three of them are very well suited to it. The helmet fit well on me, though a little snug across the forehead. I have a 22" head and my daughter tried it on and it fit as well. Thank you for your help!
It is true. Attaching it to the helmet is accomplished by four plastic snaps. The visor and helmet can be removed without causing damage. When they are taken off, they can be put back on without getting damaged.
Even though it says 8 years and up on the packaging, my six year old can wear it without trouble. In my opinion, it would be a bit loose on a 5 year old
