Questions & Answers

Is there a need to purchase an attachment for the bike, or does it come with one?

The attachment is included.

When only one child (sitting on the left or right side) is in the trailer, does it feel balanced?

I've had this trailer since Christmas 2015, and it's seen a lot of miles. In the trailer, I've ridden with one child and two children. I ride an Iron Horse mountain bike and have never had any balance issues when only one child is on board. This trailer has been extremely beneficial to my daughter. It's well-made.

Is there a third harness on this one?

Two harnesses, to be precise. Each side will have one.

There is only one flaw in this trailer
4/5

I bought this trailer to take my granddaughters to the park and possibly some trails. Overall, the trailer is well-made. It's simple to put together and not too heavy. The only issue I had was that her helmet was rubbing against the back mesh, which pushed her head forward; I knew they offered a cushioned seat, but it didn't have great reviews, so I devised my own solution. Grandpa likes having an extra motor for the hills, so I used it with an electric bike and it worked great. Depending on how fast you go, the carrier will cause a drag due to it catching the wind. My bike has disc brakes, and the back disc is close to where the safety strap goes, so it can rub if not carefully positioned. I made a video to show how it's put together, how it looks while riding, and the foam cushion I used to keep her head from slamming into the back mesh. Overall, I enjoy it and would suggest it to others.

It's of excellent quality, rides smoothly, and is extremely safe
5/5

Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase. The quality is excellent, it's simple to assemble, rides smoothly, and I'm confident that my not-for-profit organization will benefit from it. The safety of my two-year-old daughter is assured. br>br>The Burley trailers are all a little pricey, but I was able to get this one for a little less during the holidays. I was also considering a competitor's product (Schwinn), which had excellent reviews and was significantly less expensive, but I was concerned about their lack of information and photos. The Burley received mostly positive feedback, with the only major criticism being the price. They also went into great detail about how it was made and how it would protect your child. I was persuaded and paid a small additional fee. br>br>So far, we've ridden well over 100 miles, and everything has gone smoothly. My daughter was initially terrified of it, and she still refuses to let me close the front cover, but she now enjoys riding with me (as long as the flap is kept open, of course!). The seat belts appear to be secure and comfortable, and she is completely enclosed by the metal frame. I did buy the extra seat pad, though I'm not sure how much it helps because she fell asleep in the middle of the flight. Both with and without it, you can enjoy your ride. The hitch allows the bike to lean, which is useful for stopping and should keep the trailer from flipping over if I fall. The trailer is simple to disassemble and assemble, and there are additional failsafes on both ends of the hitch connector to ensure that the trailer does not detach from the bike. There's also plenty of storage space in the back, so I usually keep my sneakers in there while I put on my biking shoes, as well as snacks, toys, and extra clothing/blankets. br>br>The only real disadvantage, aside from the relatively high price, is that the helmet pushes her head forward a little. There is a pouch of loose material where her head rests on the back panel, but the seatbelt straps run up to the top and keep her head forward; otherwise, I don't see any other flaws. If you enjoy riding and have children, I strongly advise you to do so.

This trailer is fantastic
5/5

This trailer is quite lovely. I'm so glad I spent the extra money on a Burley rather than one of the less expensive brands. As soon as I finished putting it together, I went for a 10-mile ride and it towed like a dream. Because of how light it is to tow, I kept checking back to make sure she hadn't come unhitched. My 3- year- Despite the fact that old is rather tall for her age, she fit in perfectly with plenty of room. We stuffed the cab with snacks, a juice cup, three of her My Little Ponies, and a blanket, while I stowed two jackets in the back with plenty of room for more! My daughter had so much fun on her first ride that she fell asleep on the way home. br>br>The trailer is well-built and sturdy. made. Assembly was simple, and I appreciate the bright yellow cover, four reflectors, and orange safety flag for added visibility. If you're serious about riding, I highly recommend the Burley trailer; other trailers may be less expensive, but the Burley is well worth the money!.

Great trailer, but something to keep in mind if you have small children
4/5

So far, our Burley Bee has been a big hit with us. We've had it for a few months and have taken a number of rides with it. It appears to be well made, living up to the reputation we were purchasing, and our son enjoys it. There isn't much assembly required right out of the box, and what is required is simple. It's also very simple to attach it to the bike, and the space in the back is ideal for diaper bags, swim bags, shopping/grocery bags, and so on. It folds flat enough to be hung in the garage or stored in the basement without taking up too much space during the winter. br>br>So far, I've only found one disadvantage (for younger/smaller children) and one complaint: br>1) The seats have a more flexible mesh backing at the top, which gives helmet wearers some much-needed extra headroom. The heads of small children, on the other hand, do not reach high enough. As a result, there is a two-fold effect. Children's helmets tighten to push their heads towards the front of the helmet, pushing their heads even further away from the seat back, due to the fold problem, where the back of the helmet pushes up against the harder seat back. So small children are forced to look straight ahead with their heads awkwardly forward, and the helmet can be jarred loose by the seat back when they hit bumps. So far, our son still enjoys the trailer (laughs, plays with toys, and even falls asleep in it), and the bumpier paths have only been a minor inconvenience for him a few times. However, other parents have told us that their children have had a lot more trouble with their helmets and head positions being uncomfortable. It's worth noting that this isn't just a Burley Bee issue; it also applies to other brands and models. Fortunately, as children's heads grow larger and taller, this becomes less of an issue and eventually disappears. br>br>2) My complaint is that accessories are extremely expensive. It's ludicrous to pay $20 for a spare trailer hitch.
