Questions & Answers

I'd like to connect it to the Apple TV's zwift app. Has anyone been successful in staying connected and resolving the connectivity issue?

Zwift is used successfully by my son and his wife with an Apple TV connection.

Is it intended for people who are particularly heavy?

I'm not sure how heavy you mean, but it should be able to support 275 pounds. I suggest you Google your question and, if possible, call Tacx for confirmation.

Is it possible for me to have it with cassete?

Tacx Neo 2T is Shimano compatible, according to the manufacturer's website. SRAM 8- There are 11 cassetes with different speeds. It'll work with Campagnolo cassettes as well, but you'll have to buy the adapter separately.

Selected User Reviews For Garmin Tacx Neo 2T Smart Trainer

The Bluetooth linking for this trainer is perfect; I've seen some reviewers complain about issues, but I haven't had any
5/5

The fact that it feels like you're on the highway is a unique feature. It was strange at first to drive over planks in Watopia (Zwift), but I can't imagine not having it now. It takes some time to get used to the wobble when getting out of the saddle; After a month of use, I believe I'm improving my sprints and climbs. Overall, I'm not disappointed with the price or my decision, and I'm having a great time with the trainer. The peace and quiet are appreciated by my family.

Great product, but the seller, Brands Cycle and Fitness, let me down
5/5

The actual product is fantastic. Way more powerful than I need, but I wanted the other features this model had to offer (hill descent, road feel, etc. )br>br> Package arrived unsealed. The parts bag and the instruction bag were both open. Despite the fact that nothing was missing and the unit appeared to work, the item was labeled as "new" when it was clearly not. This should have been listed on the site if it had been previously returned or refurbished; however, I intend to keep the item and take a chance that it was not a pre-owned item. I'm not sure if it's a pre-owned or a demo unit, but I'm not happy with the seller - Cycle and Fitness Brands - I've left them feedback and will update my review if they contact me to resolve the issue.

Once properly set up, it's a fantastic trainer
5/5

Once you get it set up properly, it's a fantastic trainer. I bought a new Shimano cassette with the trainer, and TACX's instructions did not specify that two spacers are required before screwing on the tightening cap. You'll need another spacer if the smaller gears are loose (and jiggle a little). There are also videos on YouTube that show how to do it. When I first connected my road bike, it made a lot of noise (which led me to realize that I needed more spacers). I was able to correct this, but I still needed to adjust my rear derailleur to make it shift smoothly. My road bike wouldn't shift properly, so I switched to a triathlon bike. My toad bike needs a new cable before I put it back on the trainer, so I made a few adjustments and lubricated the chain, and what an amazing ride it was. I've been riding almost every day since I started using this trainer with Zwift. It connects instantly, and because it has a built-in cadence, I can use a Bluetooth heart rate monitor with my AppleTV to get all of the features. I've noticed a significant improvement in performance, strength, and body composition over the last three weeks.

This item has been returned
3/5

Not new. The box arrived in a state that suggested it had been through a war. Scuffs and marks can be used on the item. Clearly, it had been returned. Not new. I'm coming back.

Excellent coach - when everything is in place Overall, this is an excellent trainer, but the after-sales service could be much better
4/5

It's been about four months since I started using it. It's well-made and gives you a great sense of where you're going. When you connect your bike to a training app (Rouvy, Tacx, Zwift), you'll feel the hills, bumpy roads (not in your buttocks, but through the pedals), and even a nice downhill simulation. It's extremely stable – I'm sitting on a carpet and I'm completely at ease, even when standing on the pedals and pushing up a steep hill. The lack of assistance in getting the system up and running irritates me. I'm not a mechanic, and the majority of my tools aren't in metric. The machine doesn't come with a cassette player (as you've probably guessed). This means you'll have to decide which one to buy, order the necessary tools, and then put it all together. After three tries and a lot of profanity, I finally got it on correctly after watching a bunch of videos. There's also the axle configuration to consider. My Trek Domane has a solid "thru axle" because it came with a quick release system. To its credit, the Garmin Tacx Neo 2T includes a number of adapters that allow for a through axle conversion. Unfortunately, there is no clear explanation of how everything fits together or what the finished product should look like. I was constantly swapping parts to find the right fit for my bike while still allowing enough clearance to keep the disc brakes from being damaged. For tightening the connections, you'll need a 17mm wrench. With the cassette installation, the profanity was bad; with the axle conversion, I was "off the chain. " But, at the end of the day, it's a fantastic trainer, and I'm having a blast riding indoors this winter. A bike mechanic, on the other hand, might be worth adding to your Facebook friends list.

Indoor exerciser of exceptional quality
5/5

This is a fantastic indoor trainer that is also incredibly quiet. The bottom LED lights are very cool, and the "road feel" is also very cool. In this case, I have two suggestions. The first step is to go to YouTube and look for an assembly video. The instructions that come with the item are a little confusing. If you have disc breaks, the second suggestion is to purchase the thru axel adapter. The box includes a couple of adapters for mounting your cassette on the trainer, but not for disc brakes' thru axle. You'll need to spend another $50 on the correct adapter, which can be found here: Apart from that, it's fantastic, and I'd buy it again without hesitation.

This is an excellent piece of equipment; If you want it shipped, be cautious
5/5

Kit is a fantastic product. The ERG is noticeably faster than the previous version, and the bluetooth connection to my (older) android tablet was smooth and quick to set up. I had to order the cassette on its own. Planet Cyclery shipped via USPS, and I've included photos of the box's arrival condition. It weighs around 60 pounds, has been flown, and has been smashed up a lot - Puncture marks can be seen on the box, as well as broken polystyrene blockers inside. I'm concerned that the lack of protection may have resulted in damage that isn't visible.
