I guess this is one of those times when you can say with confidence that "you get what you pay for. " I had purchased the heavy-duty tent stakes offered by other sellers in the hopes that they would perform admirably. Then they slapped on insufficient little plastic pieces that bend and break far too easily. These do not contain any weak plastic parts and are 100% made of steel. I don't think I'll ever need to replace these unless they get stolen or I leave them somewhere.
However, it is durable. Stakes that are extremely durable. These stakes are substantial in comparison to the commonly used flimsy aluminum stakes. These, on the other hand, will not bend if driven into the soil or gravel. If you plan on carrying these for any distance, just keep in mind the weight. The welds appear to be of good quality.
These stakes fit in nicely with the hard, rocky desert ground. It's simple to attach our light-emitting rope to keep it from constantly touching the ground; these are real steel and can penetrate thin rocks, but they won't go anywhere on larger ones. "Hey, move me off this thick rock," they say without bending.
These tent stakes are certain to get the job done. They're thick and long, and they're difficult to get rid of. I like how you can attach a line to a notch or a hole. Please keep in mind that these are heavy and will add a lot of weight to your back if you have to carry them.
These were purchased for a new tent, and I wanted to try something more durable than the plastic-topped ones sold at Walmart; they fit the bill perfectly, and I plan to purchase a second set and donate my old plastic-topped one.
I've found the best stakes. My canopy is secured to my trailer with their help. I had 20-mile-per-hour winds blowing across the bow the other day, and not a single boat pulled out.
I only needed 4, so I used the other 45 to keep a large welding table on wheels from rolling around in the yard (one on each leg as an anchor, to pass through welded-on welded-on welded-on welded-on welded-on welded-on welded-on welded-on welded-on welded-on welded-on welded in the case of threaded couplings - voila').
These tent stakes have nothing to complain about. They're well-made and sturdy, and I anticipate that they'll last a long time. They're exactly what I expected, and they're the perfect length for my needs. Stakes that come standard with tents pale in comparison. The extra cost is well worth it, and it comes highly recommended.
