Inflicted no damage on a Florida beach beach for several years. Bury each leg in the sand one foot deep (lower, yes, but still very comfortable) and then drill another foot into each leg and add sandbags made by my wife if necessary -- There weren't too many of them. The tent is amazing, but is heavy, so if you want it to withstand the wind, it is therefore heavy.
I agree that this canopy is cooler compared to the one next to it. It also allows wind to pass through it instead of taking off like a sail, as others have mentioned. The canopy can be placed over a fire pit (with a modest fire) and you can remain warm and dry while the smoke escapes through the vents regardless of the weather (we have camped in the rain with the canopy in place).
