Questions & Answers

Can this withstand water or is it water resistant?

The material is waterproof. However, it does a pretty good job of repelling water. On YouTube, you can watch Corporals Corner. In addition to showing how well it sheds water, he gives a review of the Swagman Roll.

Is there a way to compress this down to a smaller size?

With my swagman, I can compress it A person stands 32 cm tall and stands 7 inches (17 cm) in height. The circumference of the device is Rolls up to 88cm).

The text says that it "ideally fits the bob backpack". What does that mean?

The Helikon Bug Out Bag (BOB) is specifically designed to help prepare for an emergency. This bag is essentially a 24 hour bag, or a daypack that's slightly larger. Because of its ability to compress and the fact that it has multiple functions, I'm assuming it would be easy to store in the bag since it contains multiple uses. In addition to serving as a jacket, it would also cover the chest quite

The perfect solution for what I needed! It began for me with a woobie in my pack years ago, and I went on to try out a few other brands
5/5

In fact, I even tried to make my own design locally two years ago, but with materials and labor costs three times what I had to pay for a Swagman Roll. It took four of us all day to wait for an elk to come back out on a park last fall. I sat down and took a nap, wrapped up in my poncho liner, while three of the guys stood around the fire. As soon as I saw the Swagman Roll and its price, as well as the fact that it had Apex Climashield and could be folded into a bag, I knew it was the one. It was not a question of hesitation for me. A little more of what I tried and failed to design is the Swagman. Buying them for my buddies because of the low price was a good purchase. Carry one in your pack, and you'll never need to be without one. When you sit or rest while hunting, you will feel 100% more comfortable due to the dead air space it creates around you.

This is amazing, but the size does not match
4/5

The color is great too, this thing is very light and warm, and also sheds water well. This thing is great for what it is, and I am However, there are a couple of things to consider. There's no way that this could fit in any USGI poncho, but it certainly wouldn't fit in Helikon's ponchos. When I lay it across my issue woobie it is about 6 inches narrower than the woobie, and it has square ends, not triangular like the USGI ponchos. It is possible to toggle the corners into a poncho, but the poncho will appear puffy and will shrunk up. Furthermore, there are no toggles in the center of the sides or ends, so they don't have the security of being fastened. It would be nice to see the hood in three pieces, and come in more sizes as well. As if it were a balaclava, it fits tight on my face. I will probably give it to my daughter since it is a good piece of multipurpose gear. It was so close for Helikon to cross the finish line, but just a few more steps would have taken them over the top. The concept, workmanship, and materials are excellent. They just weren't able to execute the plan.

This is a smart design that is worth its price
5/5

The poncho liner would just be called a poncho lining if that were the case. Nevertheless, this is not a fair assessment of the situation. A number of camo patterns are available, and it is water resistant in its own right, so it is equally suitable for use as an outer garment as well as Using this in conjunction with a poncho is a great way to ensure you're protected from the elements. Lightweight and very well insulated, it is quite a good choice for winter. Only when it's converted into a sleeping bag does it not work as well for me as it does for others. I have a chest (50 inches) a bit on the large side, so it becomes a bit tight on my shoulders when I bring my shoulders further As a rain poncho complement, there is a limit to the size, so I don't consider that to be a flaw. To be kind of funny about it, here's what I learned today Life is short, so it's worth doing. In this case, a rain poncho would be appropriate. The other way around is incorrect. 2) Functionality of everything else A wise statement made by HELIKON It's accurate to say that TEX is a description. This poncho is very comfortable to wear, and it provides a lot of mobility when worn in this form. When you're in a hide (or in the open) and wish to keep comfortable, it's a very good option. I have to say, I think this is an excellent piece of kit and need to be mandatory for almost everyone who goes to an extreme sport Door to door activities that are related to hiking, camping, hunting, fishing, go bags, get home bags, automobiles, etc. I am unable to think of another article of clothing that provides the same level of weather protection and insulation as this, nor have I had the opportunity to test or compare it with any other. It is a product I will definitely acquire again at some point here in the future, so I will definitely buy.

The quality control was poor
3/5

This product was received with a few defects. It is almost unbelievable that quality control allowed this to get through. The skin is spotted with red spots. There were also some loose threads and the stitching wasn't as straight as it should be. There is not much insulation in the hood. They could of had a winner if they made it a little bigger and if they added some Apex Primaloft. Despite being six feet tall and 230 pounds, the fit does not seem to be perfect. The house is not very well insulated. Based on the amount of Apex insulation in the kit, it is only rated to a comfort level of 50 degrees. For an additional 25$, you can purchase an insulated kit such as the Kifaru woobie. In addition, sending it back seems to be a problem. The project is still in progress. It will be interesting to see how things turn out.

While they're still in stock, it would be best to get them
5/5

It was not disliked at all. *Prices are high. Having watched a video provided by Military 1st several times and going through numerous other product reviews, I realized this was money well spent after watching the video several times. This indicates that they are in high demand. They were out of stock for a long time. My order was placed as soon as it was available again. I am currently working on my third one. Therefore, I will go with Coyote, Adaptive Green, and Camogram gear as my buy once, have forever gear choices. The materials are high quality, the manufacturing is exquisite, and the engineering is exceptional. Take a poncho from Helikon on your next adventure You are good to go if you choose Tex or Mil Tec. The pack can be rolled up to save space.

This is a must have! The other day, I received my Swagman Roll and immediately installed it into my service based on reviews from While visiting Washington State, I took the Swagman Roll out into the woods to do an overnight trip, using it both as a warming layer on my skin, as well as the lining of my Sleeping Bag amazing, and I didn't get cold despite the 30 degree temperatures
5/5

I am now hammock camping utilizing a USGI woodland bivy cover as well as the Jungle Bag and Swagman Roll, and a Snugpak hammock. Aside from the underquilting, nothing else needs to be done! An amazing piece of equipment that you must have in your kit and I would not leave home without! It's worth noting that I was impressed with the speed with which my Swagman Rolls There is no doubt that it comes from overseas, and I was given an estimated delivery date between March 15th and April 1st. The 14th of March, it arrived here! I think this guy is one happy hiker!.
