The reflective silver coating inside of this sleeping bag flaked off after one use. I only used it once while camping last week and it did a decent job of keeping me warm when my normal sleeping bag wasn't enough. There is no telling if I got a defective bag, but I can clearly see right through the bag My final impression is that I was not very impressed. I hoped it would last more than just Here is the photo I took of the inside so you can see what I mean. I am attaching it to my review so you can see what I have to say. *Please note I did not receive a response to my email and do not believe this seller has attempted to address my complaint, therefore I have lowered this product's star rating to 1, would not recommend. An elevated $15 bag of trash is ironically trash in its own right.
On that night, it poured rain and it was 48 degrees out, so we started out just lying on the pillows but as the night went on we got colder so we got into the sleeping bag and it worked well. My height and weight are 6'2 and 235 lbs, and I was a great size. In summary, this bag is recommended for several reasons, one being its compactness and space-saving design, two it keeps you warm and will repel water as well, three it's pretty durable and can be used a lot more, and four for the price, it is an incredible value.
" The kit I took with me to the Adirondacks in New York for ice fishing was of excellent quality. During the trip, we slept in tents This canvas bivi was used by my son instead of the canvas bivi in my possession. When I had ordered some camping gear, I spotted this product and thought that it would be a good fit. As a first and foremost matter, it's Mylar blankets usually cost $20 but this one has a very large size for only $20. I immediately tore through it when I tried to use this item as a bivy, even though it still may have some value. I'm not sure whether or not it was made into a tent using the picture. No way would I put my life at risk. This $20 Mylar blanket serves its purpose nicely in an emergency for a large, bulky blanket. The only reason I am rating this item one star is because I would never use it as a bivy the way it is.
While the product looks very small, once unfolded, it covers me securely when fully clothed and can be used in any weather condition. The room has been expanded. In addition to my size, I am six foot two inches tall and weigh 290 pounds. In my opinion, I felt that once it was used, it might be difficult to place it back into its accompanying Because I had no problems putting it back in the bag, I was afraid for no reason. Each of us was able to have a pair so we purchased 4 of each. Purchasing the item did not cause me any regrets.
Initially, I planned not to bring the Live Bivy emergency sleeping bag on my backpacking trip thinking that I would not need it. In the evening, the temperature was colder than I anticipated, and my 20° sleeping bag did not provide enough warmth for me. The Life Bivy worked wonders once it was out of its package, so I extended it on top of my sleeping bag as soon as I took it apart. As soon as I walked in, I felt warm. To be able to sleep warmly was an excellent feeling. Put away your expensive sleeping bags that claim to work at low temperatures and get one of these instead.
I probably made the worst purchase of my bug out bag so far. A piece of it ripped while I was taking it out of the I can honestly say the bag is stronger than the bivy. I find the product to be disappointing at best.
The first time I stayed out in 15 degree weather in the middle of the woods, I put my trust in it and it delivered.
Having used this product, I cannot say that I was disappointed in the least. It just wouldn't tear even though I tugged hard on it trying to tear it. It is important to note that I did not use any sharp devices such as a knife in cleaning the bivy. Before packing it up at home, I shot it down with water and tested to see if the material is weatherproof, and yes, It has not leaked in any way. How likely is it that I will recommend this product Yes, I'll do that. Compact storage system. I am buying a few more of these for my wife's car and mine. At this price, I will be ordering more.
