I love to hunt upland birds, and as a rule, I am out hunting most of the time in the winter when it is cold and everything is either wet or snowy. I found it amazing that the strap that goes around the boot wore cleanly through the sand. Besides being hard to use on rocky terrain, the straps would also wear out faster with the constant pulling. When you consider the price of those shoes, I can't believe that they only lasted that long. A pair of OR gaiters that I have owned for nearly 4 years has been used four times, and hasn't let me down Over the course of those years, they each spent six months. OR gaiters would be a great option if you are looking for a durable gaiter that will last you several seasons.
