There is nothing wrong with this log. Wood stove use is limited to weekends only for us. My heat pump is ineffective in colder weather and I have to use the expensive auxiliary heaters. I put it on for the day when the temperature drops too low. It was running for a whole day when I let the last log burn down to glowing embers until I filled it (as instructed in the documentation). There was still a lot of heat in the embers when it started. There was no smell or anything like that during the two-hour burn. As a matter of fact, it burns quite hot. My stove's throttle vents were off, so I had to close them up rather than increase the temperature. The chimney is already filled with creosote that is flaking off and dropping. A second one, which I will use later in the season since I have not been cleaning as often as I should have been in the past. After this, I will pick one up a year.
