Don't let the Platypus get away! Platypus is probably not used by most people in the same way that I do. In addition, I suffer from Sjogrins syndrome and am unable to produce saliva. (Some people who have undergone chemotherapy also suffer from this condition). If I want to take a sip of water every 30 minutes or so, I have to wake up every 30 minutes or so. There is no way to add ice to the pack. The bottom side outlet hose caught my eye as I was looking for a new replacement bag. I decided to order it to give it a go. There is only one way to get in or out. In this hydration bag there can be no ice added. The technique works, but unless I crush the ice small enough to fit into the machine, I wouldn't be able to use it. It wasn't what I was looking for. With my original bag, I opened it up at the top and zipped it shut tight. I then added ice and water to the bag easily. When using this bag, I have to use a measuring cup and add water one or two cups at a time, depending on how big the measuring cup is. Since I no longer drink water out of the faucet, I stop doing so. You may have a suitable water source and thus be able to fill this replacement bag easily. Still, the opening is too small to allow ice cubes to be added.
