Questions & Answers

Does the horizontal arm that holds the wheels adjust to accommodate smaller bikes or bikes of different sizes?

In short, yes. You may move the tire trays closer to the tires. Photo taken at a higher magnification.

Can you tell me the dimensions of the rack when it is assembled?

A 44-inch tablet. The width of the page is 44 inches. The length of this item is 28 inches. A high score.

This unit can be attached to the rear of a travel trailer equipped with a two-inch receiver, right?

I agree, but it's not like that. In a trailer, there is quite a bit of swaying that occurs, which creates quite a bit more leverage compared to what would normally occur in the back of a Several years ago, I damaged two different styles of bike racks that were mounted on the rear of a trailer (damaging the bikes in the process). A bike rack should not be placed on the back of a trailer according to most bike rack manufacturers.

It fits a 2" receiver without an adapter and is very secure when loaded with four bikes
5/5

It is important to have a rack that can fit a 2 inch receiver without an adapter, as well as one that can fit multiple bike sizes. There are four mountain bikes in my family. One is a large adult mountain bike, another is a small adult mountain bike, and yet another is an 18" bike. It's a snap to load them all up once you figure out how they fit without interference with one another. As a result, the rack doesn't wobble at all, it feels like an extension of the truck and I am very confident that our bicycles won't move when mounted to the rack. Having the ability to lock the rack to the truck was one concern I had. As a result, it was very pleasant to discover that the thread pitch used on the receiver pin was not uncommon and finding a locking threaded pin to fit was not an issue.

Especially because of the price, this bike carrier is a great buy
5/5

It does not look that impressive, but it does its job The bike carrier is light compared to other carriers, and I can mount it by myself to my Nissan Armada. The first time I used it, I was able to transport four bikes (one 24-inch The following measurements are in inches two 26-inch One-inch tires) to and from the local trail, which is about ten miles long The road to home is long and winding. This review has been delayed until I had put the bike carrier to the ultimate test. During our annual road trip to Acadia National Park, my family and I brought our bikes up from Texas all the way up to Maine - they struggled with it but got there. We're going! I did not notice any rattling or swaying on the road as the anti-shake system was in operation It was really helpful to have rattle threaded bolts. It did not deviate even when the travel route was littered with potholes, bumps, and uneven patches. This bike carrier delivers excellent performance at a very reasonable price. It's likely you won't be able to open the lift gate glass of your SUV if you have bikes with larger tires than 24". The recommendation of loading the smallest and lightest size did not apply to me Load the lightest bike last. I made it a point to load the smallest bike first so I have (barely) enough clearance to open the rear glass when necessary. Since all our items were loaded into the back of the SUV, it was very long road trip, so I had to have access to the back and only on occasions like this will I use this loading system. Last but not least, its worth noting here that the rack caught the attention of many people. A cyclist from the local bike shop wanted to get one, and you could see some people taking pictures of the rack in the parking lots and trailheads. The pros are Our bikes are more expensive, but this bike is light, doesn't rattle and sway, and it doesn't cost more than them! The cons are It is possible for straps to fall off and get lost if they are not looped in the latch when not in use, it cannot be reduced to a 2-point clasp.

It is a great rack for all around use The light weight and sturdy construction make it a good choice
5/5

I like this carrier a lot. The bike racks are awesome because they fit 4 bikes in any combination, whether they are adult, kids, or both. The 29er bikes I put on it are all 29ers. Take a look at the photos. It is light, so that's a plus! Tray carriers that weigh over 80 pounds are also available. There is no difficult learning curve. It simply takes a few uses to figure out what is the best location for your bike.

A good rack for the money, but there are some improvements that can be made
3/5

In my opinion, this is an excellent bike rack for the price. It's only about $400 below the $300 threshold (about $260 at the time I purchased last year) and it's hard to find a good quality bike rack for less than $400. Unlike some other rack designs, the rack is lifted high enough off the ground for me to drive in and out of my sloped driveway without hitting the ground, which was a In all of our rides on both the freeway and winding and undulating roads, the overall construction has proven to be strong and trouble free. I'm not worried about bike racks falling over once loaded with bikes, since they are extremely secure once loaded. I was able to load four bicycles without any problems. This being said, there are a few things you need to be aware of when it comes to this type of rack. First of all, there is definitely a need for longer straps to hold the tires down. The bike I ride The product of 5 x 2 is 5. The 5 tire) barely fits and I only get two clicks of engagement per tire. 20 x 2 for my two daughters. Due to the short length of these ratchet straps, 8" tire bikes are barely fitting as well. like to increase the length of these by an additional 2 inches in future versions. As a result, it is fairly difficult to mount and demount It's important to remember that bikes must be mounted. In order to secure the bike in the upright, you must first strap each wheel down, then using the nylon strap, you must cinch it tight. A seat might have to be dropped or a bike swapped from one way to another. When compared to other racks (which all of my friends have), this one is a bit more difficult to maneuver. You have to drop your bike into the rack, move a bar that tightens the wheel, and boom, you are ready to go. Besides being 2x the price, their racks are also 2x the size. When it comes to putting two adult size bikes on the rack, even if they point in opposite directions, it is very difficult. As a family, we are not concerned about mounting sequence as we usually mount kids/adults/adults/children. You can look at this as either a pro or a con, depending on your point of view. Racks may protrude farther from the vehicle than you would like, which might not be a good idea in some cases. In the end, I am very happy for the price I paid.
