A new strap that is the same as the original
5/5

Those straps fit perfectly on my Thule bike rack from the past. Those on the rack slide into the cradle while those on the cradle hook into the rack. It is important the black cap attached to the rack is replaced as soon as possible. There is a screw on the rack that holds it on. You should be able to release the cradles after you unscrew the cap and remove it. It may be helpful to apply WD40. This was the first time mine had ever It was great to find the right strap when I cleaned the ends and painted them to prevent more rust. Thank you!.

I don't think you have to throw out the whole Please re-phrase The rack's in! I really appreciated your solution to what I was looking for
5/5

It is 16 years old and I have a An equally old Thule bike rack is mounted through the rear tire on this 4 door car. The straps have finally worn through. Trying to buy a new Thule rack, I found that my car is too old to fit a Thule rack. It was recommended that I buy the straps from the bike shop that services my equally old bike. This ReRack shop on Amazon has them, and I found them there. As soon as I took off the cradles from the rack, attached the new straps to the car, and clipped in my old bike, off I went for a great ride with no concern about the bike falling off. I really like this solution! The removable cover is easy to install and remove. I saved a lot of money and time with this solution.

Straps that have the strength of steel
4/5

In comparison with the ones that came with my rack, this one is much more durable. anchor it a little bit to make sure it was in the right place. There was only one break right away, so I gave it for stars instead of 5 stars. My first effort might have gone wrong and perhaps I should have anchored into that hole at the side instead. But I actually had one break along the side where I anchored. The kit had more than I needed, which was a good thing. In general, this is a good product.

This is the original replacement strap
5/5

This appears to be an original set of photographs. In order to put these on, you need to first take them off - this is the most challenging part. There is no perfect rack it all depends on how well your rack is maintained. The ones I replaced were pretty beat up from being on the car all the time outside. I opted for new ones, and they went on easily. That's all I have to say. Breaking them is the responsibility of those who do it repeatedly Your muscles are probably too tight from trying to stretch them. Road bumps need to be accommodated by giving them room to flex. You should not have any problems with your bike as long as the straps are snug and the loop is fully hooked over the notch. I used to have originals that lasted for With the rack always outside and me constantly using it - the car is always outside with the rack. I ride my heavy cruiser and MT bikes throughout the winter and summer.

A set of original parts
5/5

The spare tire rack is original Thule parts. it is in perfect condition. I am selling a used rack that is 15 years old and works perfectly, except for the straps that are rotted. It's as if you just bought it. I needed four of them, since they are sold in singles. Amazon limits purchases to two while other retailers let you buy as many as you want. In this case, four straps are needed for the racks to fit two bikes. The other two were ordered by a friend.

I was unable to find enough information on fit with this product
5/5

I liked the fit and the condition of the straps very much. There were no signs of brittleness and it seemed flexible. Detailed descriptions on Amazon's detail pages are super cryptic, and there's no indication of how it connects to the rack in the pictures.

Don't buy one, but a few! I've had mine for quite a few years, but they're all wearing out
3/5

It's a good idea to have multiples as once one breaks, it will probably be only a matter of time until you break another! In addition, I have been given the following advice, and I share it with anyone reading this With this type of strap, you may need to use bungees as a backup. My bike has come off a rack before, partially undamaged, but miraculously both straps did not come at the same time. You can't tighten these too tight, but if you have bungees backing them up, then it should be fine. The last thing I want is for your precious bike to be lost due to these things breaking or not staying secured while in your hand!.
