Questions & Answers

Tow my RV and a car together and it may be possible. ?

The distance I measure from my RV to the second handle of my bike is the distance behind my RV I tow behind. 34 inches is how long it is. * I hope this will help you make your decision.

What will happen if I have a spare tire in the middle of this bumper? There is an older 5th wheel in my possession. ?

It is true. In some cases, depending upon how far your tire sticks out, you might only be able to fit one bike on the rack. A tire mount, which is on the bumper, was moved to the other side and

What happens if we tow our car behind our rv with this rack attached? Will it interfere with our tow bar?

Our fifth-grade class is late, so let me explain Towing a car behind an RV is unfamiliar to me, and I am not familiar with the equipment needed.

I discovered that we could choose the Swagman four bike rack when I searched for our bike rack
5/5

It was more convenient for my husband and me to choose the two bicycle version than the four bicycle version.

There is nothing better than simple and solid design
5/5

The product states 30 lbs per bike, so with the potential to withstand 215 lbs of idiotic weight plus the weight of my stupidity, I stood on each section and jumped up and down. The product is idiot proof, and I declare it to be so. Our good friends from Canada have made a quality product and done a fine job. It may be difficult to secure the bike on the rack if there is no safety channel. The right section of the bike has a J pole with an attachment hole at the top, behind my seat post. The hook from my strap is attached to that, then over the top bar of the bike, hooking it to the section below. The strap I use is the red one that runs across the bike, holding it rigid.

It's a great way to carry your bike
4/5

The exact thing I was looking for. My fifth wheel bumper fits snugly with this To get to Phoenix, we drove up to 1100 miles on two Trek bikes. Throughout the route, we stopped for gas and rest every 150 to 200 miles. As I am checking my list of things to do at every stop, I will now add checking the rack. There was never a need for me to retighten Since this hitch bounces less than the receiver type, I prefer it to the receiver type. It is just a matter of getting into the habit of checking it when you check This keeps your bikes off of your trailer because of the way the rack is built. Through and around the bikes, I have a 15' locking cable, a couple of nylon luggage straps fixed by snaps, and a couple of bungees that are of good quality. Now you're ready to roll, tuck the bikes in well and off you go!.

The tow bar does not interfere with the device
4/5

The rack is sturdy and can hold up to 250 pounds. In order for me to tow my trailer or car effectively, I needed something that did not interfere. It didn't have enough vertical clearance when it was mounted on a clamp on ball mount kind of bike carrier. No problems with mounting my tow bar or trailer ball mount on this rack. It elevates the bike tires well above the tow bar. It had some minor issues, but I was able to resolve them. For my mountain bike, the wheel slots closest to my RV were too narrow for my wife's beach cruiser bike but wide enough for my mountain bike. I wanted to put the heavier bike on the inside (closest to the RV) so the carrier would be less stressed. To accommodate the wider beach cruiser tires, I removed one of the bars from each of the tire carriers and welded it back in place. In the new setup, the Electra beach cruiser fits snugly into the inside tire slots and stands securely without being tipped over.

Is effective at what it does
3/5

There is a lot that could be done In contrast to the trailer hitch-style racks with a single slot for the trailer hitch, the brackets distribute the mounting points over the rear bumper. Thinning bumpers can be subjected to more shaking and torque stress due to this type of hitch slot connection. There is a downside, however, since the rack can't be removed. Having to adjust the Left and Right racks so that my bike wheels fit into the tire slots was not easy. As with the 2 hook or single hook clamp rack, this design held the bikes well and bounced less than the 2 hook or single hook clamp rack. There is a vertical extension on one of the racks that keeps side stress off the bike wheels, when starting up or stopping. My only wish is to have both extensions on the racks. So that I could attach my bikes to the extension, I used several bungie cords to secure them. After I connected the 12 inch i bolt to the extension, I strapped the bikes safely down. Using the 2 hooks and single hook clamp racks can make tying down bikes a lot easier. There is no comparison between the bumper Rack and bike racks attached to RV ladders, as access to the bikes is much easier, you can arrange the rack so the bikes are not sticking out of it, and the rack itself is more durable. fifth wheel, my water heater is located near the RV ladder, meaning when I used the ladder style rack, the bikes were always in the way. (I have an external switch on it allowing me to use the electric heater instead of the one that runs on.

This rack was great for a short period of time, but quickly rusted
5/5

My new Swagman 2 is a Swagman 2 My RV is equipped with an integrated bike bumper rack that I put on last year. As soon as the rack arrived, I was impressed with the fit and finish, but I was very disappointed after hearing that it could not be repaired. The duration of the project is four There were many places where the paint had rusted and deteriorated. In the last month, I repainted much of the rack and completely sanded in. The rust on the surface appeared fine, but after I removed the paint, I found massive amounts of chipped paint and large areas of rust. I mentioned above that I liked the rack, but the finish was poor. A new one would not be appealing to me unless I planned to wear it lightly and take it off every so often.

This works great, but be aware that there are two different sizes of tire openings
3/5

I like it a lot. I am married to a man and a woman There are two bikes in my house, and this fits both of them nicely With a few bungees to secure them, they were snug and secure. A chain and a pair of buttons were added as well A padlock around each tire & a lock on each wheel You can bike on the As soon as they're tightened, they don't move at all! I would like to talk about two 1) We had to face the bikes in opposite directions and 2)the tires for the bikes had to be mounted in different widths. Fortunately, our bikes have different tire sizes, so my wife's bike has narrow tires, while mine has wide There is no problem fitting them in there. Best wishes for a safe and enjoyable journey!.

There is no problem
5/5

The installation process goes fairly smoothly, the only complaint that I have is that the tie bars are not included. It might be better if the loops were longer, or if there were two of them instead of one. Also, including additional holes for bunji cords, as well as the ability to use the cable lock around the frame of the bike, rather than just the wheels, would be handy. It is pretty useless the way it is right now.
